R-100 camp info need
Ok all you jarheads
i contacted tha state campground today near Wabash
they said they need what type of equipment
tents can be 6 folks to a site at 25 per nite
campers will need to know the length 25 per nite
these will all be having electrical and water
I didn't think to ask about sewer
we can double or triple up with tents and save you boys a bunch of money per site
when is everybody coming and how long will you be staying.
let me know so I can make reservations while they still have a lot of places
as the season is new

Thanks Smokes for the info.
I'll be by myself, 1 tent about 10' X 10' and my Jeep. I'll also bring a 12' X 12' pop up gazebo we can cook in or whatever if the weather does not cooperate.
Thank you for checking that out and getting us some info. I look forward to meeting you all.
Ron

I think people are just trying to do the right thing and communicate. Heck if our government officials would COMMUNICATE with the citizens of the USA we might actually have some solutions to some real problems we have... Sorry for the temporary hijack.
I was getting ready to do a post similar to this one asking what was up and what kind of camping facilities we needed. The number of us actually planning on going seems to wander. If we want camp sites in the same place we probably need to act ASAP.
We might as well get on the same page and see what's up and who needs what and who can offer what. It seems that most of us who plan on going to Wabash spend a bunch of time communicating about what needs to happen and the sport in general. Let's keep that up if we all want to make this happen.
I, for one, would like to meet you and some of your NY cohorts... I think all of us would have a lot of fun.
Let's band together and get this a little more organized. Smoke's thread is a good one. If somebody has another option go ahead and do a reply and I'm sure the rest of us will fall in line and go with it.
If I can be of further help let me know. I'm really looking forward to the Wabash shoot.
Ron

Sure, in this thread or a separate one ?
Yes, the grill should be at or near the top of the list...
I'll start it off, aside from personal stuff, bow, clothes, tent, lawn chair, etc... this is what I plan on bringing:
- 12' gazebo we could cook in and/or some of us can hang out in if the weather is less than nice
- Small propane grill that would cook food for about 2.5 people...
- Rinehart 18-1 target for us to try and annihilate (will never happen)
- Some limited pots and pans
- An aluminum griddle
- A cooking grate & tripod for cooking over a fire
- Coleman lantern
- Misc cooking utensils, dish soap, towels, paper towels, aluminum foil, etc...
- Coleman Camp Kitchen (this thing is the cat's meow for camping)
- Electric party lanterns (if we have an electric hookup)
- A couple of 100' extension cords and other misc electrical distribution devices (if we have an electrical hookup)
- Cord for clothesline
- Most likely some janapeno-cheese deer sausage to share amongst the crew
- Bacon for KBO's Rollups (I have a good source for it)
- Big a** cooler, food, beer. Will likely get some water and ice locally...
All this in the back of a Jeep Wrangler with a cargo tray in the 2" hitch receiver.
If anyone else would like to PM me with stuff they are planning to bring I will consolidate it and post the information down the road at some point. We can then decide who really needs to bring what based on who is going to go to the shoot.
I do believe a big a** grill would be a welcome addition. I just don't have the grill, nor the room to carry one.
Ron

Deep fried pickles are excellent... Hey, I could bring my turkey cooker. I'm just going to need to figure out how to make the space for it...

Well, if you have the room I'll bring the turkey and marinade. We'll need somebody to fork up the oil though because I just don't have the space....
Fried turkey and fried pickles... Sounds pretty darn good to me. And KBO's rollups. Have not had them yet but made a variant of them with chicken and sirloin steak. Pretty good...
I'm gettin hungry and I just ate lunch... There's a reason I'm a member of the FBSA...

I have a bunch of injectable marinade in several flavors that I bought when a local grocery retailer went belly up. If somebody can bring the cooker and the oil I'd be more than happy to bring the R-100 turkey and marinade and injector. I have 2 14# birds in my freezer (butterballs, not wild).
Would be more than happy to cook one or both of them up.
