Planting food plots now?

Hey guys I just tilled up a small piece on the inlaws place that eventually will be planted to hay, but for the fall and winter, is there mix that will do anything this late if I planted it now? I'm in the north east if it makes a difference. The soil is damp and dark. The area is roughly 100' X 100'. It was a PIA spot in the field, I finally had a chance to till up. Deer do visit the place now and again I see they're prints.

Plant winter wheat....Deer love it and will eat it all winter long. You can plant it now or in 4 weeks. Doesnt matter it will stay green until spring.

I just planted my fall food plots last week. You should be in good shape for planting. I would do a soil test before you spend a lot of money on seeds.

Yeah winter wheat would be great and green or even clover. Either one really they both will be green all winter and the deer really start hitting hard after the first frost of the year.

Winter wheat the same as buck wheat? (mabey a local term?)
Hilltop, I asume you mean pH, where should it be?

we just put in Evolved Habitats Great Lakes mix. I started to come up in 3-4 days.

The wife just reminded me that I got some "deer stuff" last christmas, "it's in the garage". It's whitetail extreem? I think we have some buck wheat too.
I WAS just going to plant the timothy, but me thinks now it will be deer chow, nothing to lose right?

So it is done. Buck wheat and a little deer-chow. We have the monsoons coming with the next storm, it was now or never.

Depending on these next 2 storms, I may not have been able to get on there. They're forcasting up to 6" of rain here starting tomorrow. This is a moist spot to begin with.
