Hunting NC this year - need help
I have a delima. I started hunting three years ago with my bro in law. He is a great deer tracker (he found my first deer just six weeks in to hunting). Well he went to Iraq and Afghanistan for two hunting seasons. I di not hunt much in my home of Indiana those years because he was not around - plus my awesome son was born during this time. Now I am in NC and he is in Maine for good (out of military). We had a great week of hunting here in NC in November. But my sister's car was broken in to and they have suffered a financial loss as a result making the trip to NC cancelled. I get all excited when I see the pics and stories of others deer they have harvested. Then when it is time to get on the stand its not the same without my hunting buddy not here.
Have any of you felt this way? How do you get out of this rut and still get aloft during the pre-rut and rut?

Off to Ohio in two days, for a couple of weeks and then back to Florida for the sunshine deer.

I live in the Hawkeye state and find no need to leave this state to shoot some critter when we got nice ones here, besides I stay in that radius of 50 miles,do most of it within 25 though , from where I live.
My state is Iowa, live in the westcentral part ,not known for the best deer hunting, but we got plenty of them here also.

I'm hunting in my home state ,Iowa as there are enough deer for everyone to hunt, plus turkeys and good bowfishing!

I'm open for all invitations. I can skin a deer faster than most, I can cook a cajun meal that you'll crave forever, I have one of the funniest wifes in the country, and she hunts too.

Doug. Tracy says she wants to see some of your wifes humor. She always just waves and smiles at us. How did ya'll do in San Saba ?
Great looking property DB.
We are hunting Texas only this year. We hope to draw Iowa next year.
