I use 2 different types,,I use a Liberty fixed blade when I am in short yardage thickets...They are awesome,1 13/16 cutting Dia. made for Bear and slower bow speeds "Traditional" ... They do good for me to 25 yards, they are not a long distance head for fast bows...These are good thicket heads when you dont want to be tracking a animal very far...I shoot in the 280 range and like I said short yardage only with these bad boys, they will plane on you...YOU GET A MEAT TRAIL WITH THESE...
3 Blade Muzzy for everything else...

sorry on the Liberty, its a 1 3/16 Dia at .036 ... Its a good blade, its all blade matter of fact...The collet in the back is threaded to lock the blades in place,it has some thickness to the blades...
I also added a set of G-5 Striker Magnum 125gr 1.5'' Dia it has .030 steel / these are pretty sharp out of the box...I am going to shoot these today and see how they do...

I am sticking with the 100 grain magnum slick tricks. I am also carrying some buzzcuts that I want to try on something for the heck of it.
JC,
the grizztricks are a new broadhead that the guy who makes slick tricks came out with.

A bunch of us, got those as samples and tried them, they flew o.k. but basically fell apart after about three times in the target.....

I have not had that problem out of them, but I dont shoot them in my target but a very few times for tuning...I could see the collar backing off and the blades getting seperated at the tip because they are loose...I tighten the collar down with a pair of pliars, that way I know they are tight...I hate to hear that, they do some mean damage...I am gonna shoot the snot out of one of my targets now to make sure,im gonna hit it at least 20 times with the same head...
Maybe they redesigned them when they made the ones for Buck Masters?

They had the same demo's before they sent us the samples. I will not trust them either. But lets get Dredly's take on them.

I am gonna fire away tomorrow,I shot 4 times last year..3 to tune and 1 to kill with it...Maybe I did not shoot them enough to really test them out...My muzzy's have always been good to me but the blades on the liberty's look so much beefier. I will know more tomorrow about these and the Stryker Magnums...
Those Stryker's are pretty sharp outta the box,I hope they fly good...

Im going with the Slick Tricks
85 grn standard 1" cut
Does anyone know if the 100 grn standard blades work on the 85 grn? I believe I was told there are the same.
I know they tune and fly well out of my set up.

Guys i shot the Liberty 30 times,on the 29th time I got ****y with it...I shot it into a plastic storage box designed for hwy use, they are pretty thick...It barely had tip damage on the 30th shot from 20 yards it still hit the mark perfectly...I got pictures on the way...
The Stryker Magnum is awesome,it flew good all the way to 55 yards with no planing at all, thats good for a 1.5'' cut fixed head 125 gr...I think I am going to hit a deer with these first,i was shocked at how sharp they are outta the box..Every time they hit my target, they rocked it hard...The other heads did not thump it like these did, they hit really hard and leave a huge hole...I am very impressed with these...

broadheads.
I shoot 100 thunderheads old reliable. This year in wyoming got caught in some bad weather in 2nd week september. It snowed and iced up 8 out of 10 days we hunted. A couple of morning everything iced up bad. My brother and friend spoke of mechanicals icing up and possibly not working? I do not shoot mechanicals and wonder if this has ever happened before? I know my bow had to be pulled to keep the ice out of cams. We spot and stalk hunt. Missed a nice buck in heavy snow on one day and knew it affected my arrow flight at about 50 yrds. Lots of animals on the move. One of my best hunts ever in the most miserable conditions.

Me and my boy's are shooting Muzzy broad heads and Allen Mechanical. It is more important of the shoot placement than the broad head. If it flies straight and is shape it will get the job done. I have shot a lot of brands and don't see much difference. A good hit always leads to a good blood trail and a short track.

Any G5 product. Strikers Usually. Im more of a mechanical guy though for some reason i just have that extra bit of confiednece with them... Tekans and Grim Reapers will do the job just fine...... i have killed multiple game with them and they do a damn good job too,
