Why you like Bowhunting ?
I like it for lots of reasons but a few of my top ones...
We get to pick over the heard before the gun slinging weekend warriors hit the woods...
We get up close and personal,I like counting the eye lashes myself..
I get nothing from holding a gun in my hands and holding on a deer...
We draw first blood...
The deer arent as jumpy in bow season...unless you get busted
I like doing all my own bow/arrow work ,, its a great feeling when it all pays off...
last but not least,,i always like hearing,,,Man you got that size hole with a arrow? dam thats bigger than my 12 gauge slugger...

No single reason.
Started when I was 10, after reading Fred Bear stories in Outdoor Life and other magazines.
Remember thinking, "man, that's what I wanna do when I grow up"
It just kinda stuck.

Getting close undetected, the overall challenge of hunting with a bow. I mostly spot and stalk which sometimes seems impossible but when everything comes together it is the sweetest feeling in the world!!

Get into the woods without cannons going off every 2 seconds. Get into the woods to let everything soothe. Get into the woods to have peace and quiet to myself. Oh, and I love the feeling of harvesting an animal with the greatest weapon givin' to mankind. Knowing that bows were put on this earth to put food on the table.

Since I'm fortunate enough not to hunt public land gun season isn't a problem for me. I guess I like having the extra days just being out and the challenge of a different kind of weapon. I don't really have a favorite kind of hunting - they're all good.

#1 - Relaxation
#2 - We actually get to see the seasons change.
#3 - Less hunters to deal with.

The dear are in a natural state. I live in Pa and in firearms season the dear are running scared. Don't know if it is the same in the rest of the country but in pa if you want to get a deer when it is not being pushed by another hunter archery is the way to go.

I have not had the opportunity to harvest anything with my bow yet. But I really miss just being out there and walking the woods in the piece and quiet and just seeing the animals. I also miss hunting with the guys I use to go with, we always had fun even when we didn't spot a single animal

I enjoy the peace and solitude. No phone, no computer, no TV, no mowing the lawn. Even if I don't shoot a deer just being out there and seeing nature and the changing of the colors on the trees is reward enough.
Good luck all this season. I am heading out tomorrow at lunch time for the weekend.

Me like bowhunting because it is some much more intimate than other forms of hunting. I do like gun hunting too for different reasons, but bowhunting is my fav.

Easy one
I bowhunt because I am superior to the other residents of Earth!
Just kidding, why I hunt deer:
1. Sitting in a tree at the end of September and watching feeding deer, squirrels, the occasional raccoon, geese flying by. That's heaven to me
2. Land is easier to access.
3. Keeps me sharp for woodchuck season.
4. It's warmer than gun hunting.
5. My father-in-law doesn't do it so I can talk down to him about it.

I'm addicted to nearly every aspect of this awesome "sport" and I couldn't imaging ever doing aything else. Besides, I love chasin' deer enough that there is no way I would ever limit myself to just a few days hunting with a firearm every season. With my bow, I get the excuse to live in the woods for the better part of 3 1/2 months!

Bowhunting for me is so much more challenging than rifle hunting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the gun hunt too, but there is something special about having to get the deer withing 20 - 30 yards, positioned right, and not getting busted. I have not harvested a deer yet with a bow, 0 for 2 years, but I can't wait. Last year, I had a nice tall 10 point lazily walk broadside at 96 yards on public land. I could have easily taken him with a gun, but the challenge of bow hunting reared its head. I had set up on the wrong trail. I had flipped a coin that morning to pick which trail, and I picked wrong. So for me, the challenge is definitely the draw.
