well no time like now to learn.
One of the most important things in a well tuned bow is a properly spined arrow.
A few "googles" and you shouldbe up to par.
Get it right the first time and you will enjoy any brand arrow that you shoot.

In an effort to help..
http://www.eastonarchery.com/company/faq
Read specificly arrow spine and weight, and arrow tuning.
Spine is simply the stiffness of the arrow.
IMO it's more critical for fingers shooters than release shooter at hunting distances, but it has it's effects on both. For most of us, when using a release, as long as they are stiff enough it's a good place to start.
I just made up some 600 spine GT arrows for my son's GF, cut to 26" and for a bow that maxes at 40 lbs. It was just a guess on my part as I don't have one of the arrow programs. But they bare shafted pretty good at full lenth on a 44lb recurve, so I think they'll be OK for her at 26" with a faster compound.

Because if I were face to face i could, sometimes the things i type are not as clear or understandable as I would like.
Trust me, because i am a good guy, I would have him google it.

Just an FYI too, not every manufacturer uses similar common 'Language" when identifying their arrows, look for the actual spine rating @ 28".

Could be. But there's more than one reason they could be flopping around.

The stiffer the spine, the stiffer the arrow shaft. Don't get confused. You want to match the spine to the pounds, arrow lenth, draw lenth, and point weight.

To simplify it for you I'll use easton carbon shafts as an example. The bigger number spine, the more they bend under a given weight.
In order of stiff to weak: 300, 340, 400, 500, etc.
Thats how easton marks them. PSE for some ungodly reason does the reverse, or did. Look for the actual spine rating.

Expedition 55-75 are 400s. check it out.
http://www.goldtip.com/products/fami...&rnd=251329245
Now if you have them shorter than 28" they'll act stiffer, longer than 28" and they'll act weaker.
If you put heavy points up front that will weaken them, lighter points will stiffen them. Catching on?

Thats why I suggest to look for the actual spine rating. That way you can try different brands and have an idea of what is working for you.

Hunters Friend
On the Hunters Friend website under "Technical Help" go to "Product Selection Guide" and then to "Arrow Selection".
You will find a VERY in depth technical paper (albeit easy to read and understand) on arrow construction, spine and weight and everything else you need to know about arrows. The piece is well written and does not favor any brand.
The website has other articles about Bow selection and DL & Weight that are very informative. The only article I found that was a bit biased was the one comparing Whisker Biscuits with Hostage Rests but they make their points well.
