I am w/ JC on this one. This was a childish "oh yeah" response by Shepley. The timing of the release and when the bows will actually ship are proof to that. Still, I won't bother w/ either the XLR8 or the Omen.

I wonder if someone will have to take an AD in a magazine for people to relize that the REEZEN is not the bow that PETE has a problem with.......

Once again.......I am not bashing PSE. PSE makes fine bows. This bow however is not one of them. If you want to say I'm bashing the BOW.....then have at it. I've shot it and I have an opinion of it.

I would suggest to anyone on this thread that hasn't drawn the Omen to refrain from defending it. You have no idea what you are defending. This is far from the typical speed bow draw curve...

with all the bickering one would think this is AT. so now PSE has the fastest bow on the planet, whoopie. still not buying one. speed comes at a cost, i'm not willing to sacrifice the feel of the shot, pull of the draw for all that speed. i don't think the general hunting public even cares about this speed war going on right now. wish Mathews would of stuck to what they did best, building a smooth shooting, easy drawing bow. it was funny i asked a shop owner (they are one of the top 3 Mathews dealers in the country) how the sales of the new Mathews were. he said most guys are holding off on buying a new Mathews until they shoot a Monster, really. he also went on to tell me how a huge advantage the new dual cam is that Mathews put out, man i think Mathews has a iv with cool-aide hooked up to this guy. i guess you gotta believe they are the shiznit if you are going to sell them. i think most people don't want to draw something like that when it gets cold and they have on all their hunting clothes on, and in awkward position in a tree, ground blind etc. i think these speed bows are going to be short lived, what do you all think?

Every Mathews dealer that I have talked to that went to the Mathews show said they were impressed w/ the Monster, both draw cycle and after the shot.

Very little vibration on the shot, very quiet and of course very fast. If speed is your game, this is one to check out.
is it heavy at all

Like owning a Ferrari, cool to have, makes others feel insecure (due to the speed), but has its limitations when it comes to usefulness. Of course, there are some that can handle, and shoot very well with speed bows.

They will if you know how to tune them. Crackers got them to hit IBO no problem.

Just wounder if he did it with a stack bow, with stock strings? He does great things, but to have to get a bow and then have to pay him to get it to hit IBO sound not so good to me. I would be better to have the bow hit IOB than have him get that few exta pfs out of it.

I don't think theres a speed bow made nowadays that you can't become accustomed to shooting, they do however require more than a few shots to get used to..

I expect a dealer to NOT lie to me. Why would they? They sell more lines than just Mathews and from yr. to yr. shoot a different brand based on which bow they decide feels best for them. Lots of Mathews dealers that I've talked to said they were a bit disappointed in the Reezen 6.5, so why would they be blowing smoke about the Monster???

No offense, but from what I've seen it'd be the same with other companies except Hoyt. They all exagerate their IBO's somewhat. Hoyt don't.

PSE on there IBO ratings for the XForce series of bows is pretty dead on. My new XForce GX set at 28" draw, 70 pounds, shoots a 368 grain arrow @ 322.2average for five shots. That is with a peep and loop installed. The chart put out by PSE states it should be shooting @ 323.3, and that is without the loop or the pep installed. So I would have to say that is pretty dead on.
