Press Fingers
Hey guys here's a PDF I made of EZ Press style fingers. 1miss over at AT traced the fingers and dimensioned them, I just put it on AutoCad and made a PDF for everyone.

Looks nice but you may want to put a tolerance on that hole for the doityourselfer. The factory units use a .500" dowell with a very tight slip fit on that hole. If I were to make these, and in the interest of saftey, there would be a set screw to engage that dowel.

My EZ press fingers don't look like that? Must be a copy-cat model...

Do you have a link to plans or details on building the press? I think it'd be pretty self-explanatory, but plans would be great.

What do you do for the draw stops on an ELITE?

I have an Ovation with a draw stop. It looks like I'll have to remove mine to press it. However I think EZ press has found a way around this but I am unsure? I know for a tuned binary I wouldn't want to have to remove it everytime I wanted to press.

The EZ has a fifth shorter finger you install for the Mathews.

Ez-Press does have a drawstop finger so you do not have to remove the drawstop I ordered a second for bows with drawstop on each cam they sent it to me free of charge.

MickeyBee, just going off of what was already posted. I am not a machinist nor have I done much mechanical engineering.

Look over in the DIY section on AT. There are about 10 different people building them right now. Just search press and you will get plenty of instruction and ideas.

Here is just one of many.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any body's toes . Thought that drawing was posted to give ideas to the "do it yourselfer" and was just giving my 2c as to what I would do if I were to make it

Nah, didn't step on my toes There are just some things I don't remember from college, and alot of the mechanical engineering stuf, is it.
Can you explain further what you meant by a set screw(where would you put it)?

MickeyBee, let me clarify my question with a picture... "A picture is worth a thousand words". Is this what you meant by a set screw?

Yup, thats the idea. Doesn't realy have to be a set screw. Can be any type of locking device you can think of. My thought was that if the 1/2" hole was made to large, the fingers could float, slide, rock, or whatever have ya, to easily on the pin and possibly cause a serious problem. In the end saftey is in the hands of the builder/operator and thought I would just through in my 2c hopeing it might at least be a consideration to anyone trying to make this project.
