Whos out of work?
I know this is a sore subject - but I am just wondering-
who is laid off?
Who is tired of fighting unemployment?
What the job market looks like where you are?
I'll start- I am a Laid-off RV worker from Inidana (northern)
My experience with enemployment is 1 week ok, next week they make another hoop for me to jump thru, and to wait at least 3 days for my card to get charged.
In Northern Indiana I see Nobody looking to hire?

I still have a job but they (being my employer) have cut 2 jobs from my office in the last 2 months. And Im still expected to get everything done very short handed. On one hand Im happy to have a job on the other Im sick of feeling the brunt of the cut backs when the fat cats on top still make the big cheese. We could fire a few VPs and save some big time cash.

I'm still working at the salt mines!
I haven't been affected much ,but you never know!
I've decided to use three weeks of my five weeks vacation during deer season ,got to put meat on the table during these tuff times .
I still work 48 -60 hours a week ,they don't fire slaves !

They have laid off 20% of the employees. They are talking 25% pay cuts now. Things not good in Ohio.

I'm staying busy enough to pay the bills, and lucky to do that. constructio has always been feast or famine so I've saved enough to survived for a little while. In february I had 3 of my best guys quit on me and started jobs with benefits and insurance , and that actually helped me cause it was gettin close to having to lay off. I have had some down time lately when I'll look at over 100k of tools and equipment sitting still and think about liquidating and going off to be a mountain man up in the hills,ya know ,just 'dropoff the grid'. But, Texas aint got mountains and the wife and kids and..this ..and that...blah blah blah!

I heard today that the light at the end of the tunnel has to be changed to a green bulb that's lighted by solar energy, until then it's been turned off. The good news is 5,000 jobs will be created in the process.
I have a job today, but things around here are not looking good at all.

I'll be 60 in June, my 401K is now a 101K. Us baby boomers will be working a few more years if there are jobs to work. Someone needs to tell those Washington boys that we would have retired and got out of the way, but not now.

We've got the double whammy in our area. GM plant to the north just closed, Chrysler plant to the east is very Iffy. The employees that come in say they don't know one day to the next what they will be working.
Not only that construction in our area is non-existant and we have a bunch of those guys that come into the shop. They said there is basically ZERO work for painters, carpenters, concrete, etc.
If the consumers don't get a little confidence the stock market is going to continue down and the media will keep push that it's so BAD out there. It surely doesn't help.

I listen to Sean Hannity and Mark Levin quite a bit, look up their webpages to find the station in your area. I am getting educated on what is really going on.

We are doing better in Washington than most, but it is getting there. I think the bottom is still a long ways away. In addition to the jobs lost, folks who were going to retire will have to stay working longer. That means a whole slew of positions will not open up. Taxes are being raised on the rich so they wont be able to invest as much, less money for expansion and jobs. It is going to be a tough haul, no doubt about it.

Well - My place of employment supplies those people that you are talking about in your first paragraph. That is why we are so slow.
But hey !!!! Maybe we will all have jobs building all these bridges and raods that are going to be built that know one will be driving on because they cant afford to go anywhere!

Delphi is one of our customers. We supplied brake reservoirs to the dayton plant. That is shut down now. We still do some Delphi but not as much.
