Default Need a little help.

If y'all got any prayers left... I could probably use a couple... Offtopic Offtopic

I have decided it is time to fix what is physically wrong with my carcass or find out if there is no relieving the constant pain and irritating restrictions to my everyday activities.

Wednesday I go to the Vascular Surgeon and Thursday I see the Orthopaedic Surgeon; hopefully within a week or so I will know if I can return to an active life or if Iím destined to feel this miserable for the remainder of my life.

If I would of had even one small inkling that I would live past 40, I would have been more careful with my body. Offtopic

Hey brother, a prayer is the least we can do for you. I'll send a couple your way. Hope it works out for you!

And it doesn't get better with age..... I am a direct result of too many John Wayne movies as a kid and have lived my life with a testroserone level much higher than my I.Q. When I get out of bed in the morning I sound like some-kind of weird musical insturment while trying to cross the room and it doesn't get better with age. But wouldn't trade it off for anything. Most of all the pains are from memories and expierence.

I'll be down in Tenn. the latter part of this week surronded by 100's of Catholic Clergy and will see if I can get some of them to send a few prayers your way. (my brother gets Ordained as the Bishop of Knoxville, Tenn. Thursday)

Well one down and one to go... Offtopic

The visit to the Vein doc was enlightening to say the least... Just two small surgeries and I should be fine... Offtopic It isn't Lymph Edema as was previously diagnosed... it is curable with surgery and after recovery I should have the full use of my leg after nearly 20 years of unnecessary misery...

I love my new doctor...

best wishes with round #2

hopefully they have some magical monkey paw dust hidden back in an old leather bag.

or better yet, these days with some of the technology they have................a reasonable treatment with a good prognosis. 3 dimensional scans and other techniques are quite amazing.

wishing for the best.

The surgery on my leg is to close the great saphenous vein because the valves are not working properly and so do not allow the blood to return to my heart.

I have had this condition since the mid 90's and various doctors have diagnosed it to be everything from a fungus they had in Viet Nam, or a virus to you're too fat and have lymph edema... It simply amazes me that some doctors can keep their license to practice... Oh well... I guess they can just bury their mistakes... Not a single one would acknowledge my pleas for help or referral to a specialist, until I found this young doctor who was both honest and smart enough to admit he didn't know....

I lost much of the quality of mobility for the better years of my life to their incompetence and only wish I could get each of them in a dark room for a little while... I know I shouldn't feel this way... but I sit here in discomfort as I have for a good many years and can't help feeling the need to vent...

I'm with you there buddy! I got piles of aches and pains, 15 years of competitive martial arts, skiing, water skiing rock climbing, and all the injuries associated with them all, and THEN imagine turning 35... in Boot Camp! There were kids in my Division that i could (chronologically speaking) have been their parent. But I was able to keep up with them as long as I kept sneaking my 800mg Motrin in the morning and a Lortab before lights out.

Anyway, I'll light a candle for you, and me, and all the old farts trying to keep up playing a young man's game.

Javi, living with pain isn't good on you or those around you. Sometimes operations work, sometimes they don't. I've been cut, poked and prodded and have the T shirt to prove it. Remember brother, do what the doctors ask of you to help your recovery. Then once you get to feeling so darn good that you don't think you need to keep up with therapy, doctor visits, eating right and such .... have someone smack you back in to reality.
My dad always told me what don't kill you will make you strong I sure could of saved a lot of pain and sleepless nights had I not listened to him just this one time
Hang in there, sounds like you've got several here that are concerned and remembering you in their thoughts and prayers. Hope you don't mind if I jump on board

Vent, Vent , Vent away. Don't hold that crap inside. It doesn't do any good in there.

I don't pray near as often as I should. Mainly because I think he stopped listening to me a few years back. Prayers sent, who knows maybe he is listening to me now a days...

Well, at least it ain't April 1st! Just curious, draw hand or bow hand?

I had the bow shoulder rotator fixed and shooting the bow after a bit actually made it feel better when I shot regularly, when I stopped during the rain it started hurting again. Fine now though and better than ever!

Good luck, I will keep you in my thoughts on the 10th!

Mike you know what I've been through and you are about to take your turn so keep your spirits high and in the end you will rejoice. There were times when I thought I might have made a mistake and lost patience wjth the rate of recovery but all that was for nothing as it all turned out well. I'm about 95 percent recovered now and this last surgery on my bowarm has taken 14 months to this day and I have no pain at all, still building up endurence however. You'll be fine Mike, it will just take a while and follow the doc's instructions.......no more/ no less.
