turkey broadheads and calls

I am new to turkey hunting and will be going on a few hunts this year both with gun and bow. I was wondering what broadheads everyone uses. I was also wondering what kind of calls are popular, friction, diaphragm? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am also new to turkey hunting...that's why my arrows will be tipped with the same heads I use for deer hunting, Rage two blades. I figure, they fly like field points and the open up something fierce. My buddy will be doing the calling. Good luck!, I'm sure you'll get solid advice from other members.

hi, i use rage 2 blade broadheads, or the 3 blade broadheads, i've also used regular muzzy heads. seems like ya want a bigger cutting diamiter, the rage 2 blades give ya a 2 inch cut. good luck

I've had good luck with Grim Reaper heads on turkey. As far as calls, I mainly use diaphrams 90% of the time, & slate calls 10% of the time. I use box calls on windy days, they cut through the wind better. But that's just me.

I use all types of calls. I think they all have their place.

I use Slick Tricks. This year I used Grizz Tricks with Awesome results!

Thanks for the responses guys. I was unsure weather to use expandable heads or not. I think I will stick with fixed blade for turkey. I think I will destroy to much meat if I use a wide cut expandable.

the slate call is the easiest to use to me for making a variety of calls if your a beginner....i am pretty much a beginner myself so this is from my personal experiences.

Any good broadhead should do the trick so i would use what ya got.

I think the slate is easy

I am useing rage 2 blade I try 2 cut them in half

Box Call are recommended at most seminars I have attended. Most work.

Mouth calls.

Single reed work best for begginners. I perfer the triple reed.

Slate calls work good as well.

Im trying the Slick Tricks this year. Most turkey broadheads need wide cut.
