Sunday shoots????
Most of the places anywhere around me that have 1 day shoots choose to have them on Sundays! Why in the world do they choose sunday? Getting home late sunday night when you gotta work monday morning keeps alot of people that would have to travel from coming..Sat would be a different story.. I just don't get it..

I can't justify pulling the grandkids out of Church to go to a Sunday shoot. I have passed up a lot of shoots because they are on Sunday. Maybe there are a lot of folks that work on Sat. and just can't go anyother day! We have one club in the area (West Texas) that has their club shoots on Sat.

Promblem
This is often brought up at most clubs from time to time.
Most clubs here shoot both days and have less shoots. Maybe once a month.
My local club one year staggered each shoot. One time on Sat. and one time on Sunday with two shoots a month.
Some folks work Sat. Quite a few and we understand the Sunday thing and shot up to 2:00pm sign in on Sunday.
Its something clubs have to disscuss for everyone

I work most Saturday's during the 3d season so if they don't shoot on Sunday I can't shoot.

I go to church on Saturday evening ( when I make it ) so I'm free on Sundays,as I work almost every Saturday so I can buy all those things that we archers just gotto have .

Lucky for us Rev. Wilder hosts his 3dShoot on Saturdays, eh?
For the shoots out at Herb Parson's... If we go to Church w/ the car loaded with our bows, and don't stand around jaw-jacking after service, we can just make it out there before the cut-off time.
The best option is to call archery your Church!
A church is not necessarily a place, but a state of mind.

oour club switched to saturday shoots last year and attendance was down. this year our attendence has been back up with the exception of the shoot that fell on the same day as one of the big regional shoots(Pella? i think).
but we have also talked about running our shoots saturday and sunday for 2010.

if the shoots around here went to Sat, the attndance would drop so severly that clubs would fold....
We have tried Sat, shoots.....EPIC FAIL.....
Most guys in this area work Saturdays......
Also, why are you getting home so late on Sundays? get out of bed earlier and get to gettin....

Our club sets up the range on Sat. mornings. Anyone can shoot after the range is set. We may draw 15-20 on a good day. The next day, there are usually 100+. Too many people working Saturdays or have too much to take care of on Saturdays.

i figure its because whoever sets and/or works the range also has a real job and doesnt have any other time to do it. Its tough running a range, always have someone griping.

I use to just pay ,shoot & leave , not any more as I stick around to pick up the targets ,and if I get off early on Saturdays ,I'm there to help put them out ! I know there are always complainers everywhere ,can't please everyone one can only do so much ,life is too short for that !
