NRA keeps calling !
I keep getting calls from the NRA (I got caller ID ) and I don't answer them as they seem to hound you more as this has happen in past years.
I'm not against the NRA ,but don't like all that extra asking for this or that , which seems to be part of their goals !
What does anyone on this site think of this situation ,that I'm in ?
If I join or not ,how do I keep them from bothering me alot ?

I get maybe one call a year and a few mailings which I read... I am a Life Member...
The calls you get are not actually from the NRA but from a phone bank.. next time they call answer and request to be placed on the do not call list... it will take a few weeks but the calls will stop..

NRA just called again !
Made me mad ,but I thought I'd listen to their reason this time ,rather than just ask them to put me on their do not call list as that didn't work .
I listen to their message, they always addressed themselves as members of the NRA,I never doubted they were not !
Being that I don't know any of those people I've decided to let someone here give me a solid reason or more on why it is better to be a member, please I want only those who I would know from this site ,not anyone from who knows where and keep it short and direct ,please
I do own alot of firearms (mostly shotguns ),as I do archery equipment !

Obama, Pelosi, Sotomayor.... do I really got to go on...
I told you it would take a while to get on the do not call list... you must be one of the McDonnald's generation... if it don't happen in the next two seconds you got to gripe about it..

I was a member of " Buckmasters" as I brought a Jennings Buckmaster bow (the first model ) and did renew for a few years ,but let it go as they didn't have what I wanted to offer ! Saying no worked for me with Buckmasters !
I had less trouble with them than the last time the NRA & me went around on their constant calling and not excepting a no alot back then (I've never been a member of this badgering organization ) ,that ended after alot of saying no with them sending me a DVD ,it was really pretty good for something I didn't request .They seem to want it back ,at least 5 years ago they did ! I still seem to have it,as they can't send stuff to me without me asking or OKing that !
Well it's been 5 years and they are at hounding me again (same address & phone number ),lucky me !
I was pretty close to joining ,but I'll decided to give them the run around again (sorry the reasons given on this site were not good or what I thought I'd read ) and see what freebee I end up with that I never wanted !
If I'm wrong about being not really worried on gun rights ,I'll fess up to it ,but until then I'll entertain myself with this group of " chicken littles " !
PS I'm on the government's do not call list ,think I should inform them of that or wait awhile ! Remember ,I've never ever called them , this is a form of harassment !

They have been calling alot for awhile , but in the last year they must of gave up on telling me things .We got more gun rights now then ever in Iowa in the last few years , as I can get a CWP by just using my DD 214 and my good record with things in life and $50.00 for 5 years and I can have a loaded weapon in my vehicle or with me or concealed on public unmarked areas !
This has brought out alot of signs lately !

They went thru the call routine with me until I told them to take me off their call and if they would call again I would cancel my membership. (I never would cancel plus I have been a life member since 1982) They are outstanding as for as the gunrights but can get a little annoying sometime.

I've been a member for years (should have bought that lifetime a long time ago when it was cheap!) I get a mailing now and then, that's it. No calls. I'd rather be on the team than wish I had been. I can't say I agree with some of the extreme views, but if you allow the anti's an inch they'll take a mile. You have to push back. We're in a small world now, and the right to bear arms is a rarity, let's do what we can to preserve that. We take alot for granted, but we really do have it good to be able to own arms. Can you imagine not being able to hunt?

me too.
I would rather they double the membership fee and promise to leave me alone the rest of the year.
The last straw was when they started sending me DVD'd that I didn't order then sent me a bill and started burning up my phone line for payment. I broke the DVD in small little pieces and sent it back.

i'm a life time member but only because the gun clubs i belong to make it mandatory in order to belong, i would much rather support Gun Owners of America http://gunowners.org/ i just don't trust the NRA all they want is money.
they kept calling until we had it out one day on the phone and i haven't heard from them since thank god
