I was given an old PSE bow to see whether I'd want to get involved in archery hunting I see the newer bows have string suppressors on them but my bow has a rod already attached to the bow with a plastic slide on the string do you remove the rod or attach the suppressor on the front thanks in advance for your help

What you bow has on it is called a cable gaurd. That plastic sliding thiny goes on the string and onto the rod comming out of your bow.

After market string supressors typically attach on the front of the bow between the riser and the stabilizer unless the riser is designed to recieve the supressor on the rear oppisite the stabilizer. Saunders Archery makes a couple of supressors that mount on the cable slide rod. The one I prefer is called the Deadly Quiet.
