Budget recurves

Hello,

I am looking into an inexpensive take-down recurve. I plan on shooting a few 3d shoots with it to take a break from the compound.

I have been looking at the PSE Kingfisher and the Martin Jaguar recurve. Does anyone have these? Or can anyone make a recommendation on which to buy?

Shot a Bear Victor Kodiak Magnum take-down for years, so I'd reccomend a take-down so you can buy different limbs for it. I'd sell you mine, but I gave it to my kid and I don't know where it is now. Had two sets of limbs. 35 lb and 60 lb. Lancaster has a bunch of take-downs that seem reasonably priced.

do not buy the kingfisher. it is a bowfishing bow and weighs a ton. if you dont want to spend alot check out phleamarkets, yard sales and pawn shops. pse has a good line of recurves around the $200 mark.

Try the Martin Jaguar Takedown. It uses the same riser as the compound Jaguar. There is a thread on AT in the traditional section that covers this particular bow. My brother got one based off of the feedback from people who had gotten them. He is very happy with the bow especially for the price.

Quinn bows are probably the best ready made, relatively low cost bows. They are hard to beat. They don't have compounds, they don't have $1000 recurves. What they do have is a great bow for the buck. I would choose them over a PSE or a Martin metal riser bow. Martin has some nice wood bows, don't get me wrong, but for what your asking about, I'd go with a Quinn.

I have 7 Jaguar recurves for my youth archery group. they are very stout nearly indestructible recurves and has stood up to LOTS of shooting and abuse.
They are more accurate than most people shooting them.

Hello fellas. Geez, I haven't been over here in awhile (or the local shop either, lol).

The Quinn bows are the best value in recurves, hands down. When you amongst the hardcore recurve shooters, you will see that the Quinn bows are highly regarded.

If anybody is looking at Quinns, call them for availability. Their website frequently says none available, but they seem to be able to get them out pretty quick.

What is the cost of the Quinns, I didn't see it anywhere on there web site.

I've been looking at Hoyt's Dorado and Gamemaster recurve. Getting ready to pull the trigger on the gamemaster, just trying to decide on the limbs.

I got a LH Comet riser with Stallion limbs to make a 64" bow and it was $235 including shipping...

That is a good price when compaired to the Hoyts or other name brands.
