USA Wake UP ArcheryTV can work
Check out the Archerytv over seas. We could have this here. Sponsors surely would support it.
Notice both girls are shooting Mathews Apexs.
Very cool archery to watch.

Cool venue.
There's just something about a pony tail and ball cap.
And it sure beats bowling...

Honestly
Guys this could work. Not that hard to do! All these 150 hunting shows and if someone would realize it can happen if one would just make a good show of tournament archery.
ASA or NFAA or IBO just hire a film crew and show tournament archery to the world. Most that know I shoot tournament but dont have a qlue what its all about.
Heck if wasnt for Fred Bear videos I wouldnt be shooting archery most likely.

i've been watchign these clips for awhile DB. the clip of, i think braden g, setting the world record is impressive! I don't understand why they do not film Vegas in this same style. or the shoot downs for ASA.

Simple just doesnt make a lot of sense. We film hot dog eating contest and cant have archery.

It's all economics
I don't know what the numbers are, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and guess Hoyt and Mathews probably sell about 250 camo bows to every 1 "pretty" target bow-at least in the USA.
There are a lot of us target archers that like to watch archery competition but we are vastly outnumbered by the guys who would rather watch over the shoulder of some camo-clad tv personality sitting in a tree over his food plot or feeder on his leased hunting spot watching for ole "Long-Tine" that he has 500 pictures of on his trail cam.
The turn-around is happening a little every day as we become more and more like the European countries where only the rich can hunt . Every time a hunter writes a check for access (thus taking away opportunity for the less fortunate) we get a little closer to the "Joes" having nowhere to use a bow but on paper or foam.
I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, but it sure seems to get closer every day. The sad part of it is that after 8 years of dealing with the whitetail fanatics here in Kansas I've come to enjoy target shooting way more than dealing with the "industrialized" sport hunting has become.
So DB, I think your wish for target archery on tv is coming.

I showed the videos to my wife last night She is getting nervous about Paris, so I thought showing her some video of other woman shooting would encourage her. It seemed to help a bit.

What's the range, 90-100 meters? See those people sitting down UNDER the targets? Don't think I'd do that....

Where? I see some sponsor banners and timers but noone setting under the targets. especially since the targets are mounted an a "bridge" that spans a river. I've watched many of these videos and have never seen anyone near the target while the archers are shooting.

You're right. Now that I looked at it on a larger screen, I don't see anybody down range except the pullers.
Is that a 122 cm target? I shoot regularly at 70 yards at a small paper plate on a bag with my 3-D rig, and I'd like to get an idea of the groups they're shooting.

One of the best parts of competition archery may be holding it back as a TV event. That is the accessibility of the "stars". Go to a tournament and there is a good chance that you will be shooting on the same line as Dave, Chance, Reo. Braden or one of the other very successful archers. All of these guys are regular guys and are willing to talk to and help anyone they meet.
The US has become more and more a celebrity culture. Part of the appeal of the celebrities is there inaccessibility. What are your chances of talking to one of the big golf, tennis or football stars. If you want to see them, you have to pay, in one way or the other, to see them.
I don't want the accessibility of the top archers to change to make archery more available to a TV audience. However, I would like to see more of the Archerytv type clips of US competitions.
A few pretty girls with pony tails and ball caps wouldn't hurt either.

Guys I have just taken over the production of Full Draw Adventures and Half the show is dedicated to 3D competition archery and some indoor. I have started a format that I believe you would like. We air on the Pursuit Channel and we run from July through December. I will try and give you guys a an example to check out.
Remember Full Draw Adventures we need your help and let all your sponsors know about it and if you like it and in order to make the sport bigger we need all sponsors to get involved not just one bow manufacture we need all of them to get involved.
