Default eye problem

I just bought my 6 yo daughter a new bow. We are having sighting issues, turns out she seems to be left eye dominate and right handed. Is there anyway to work on her becoming right eye dominate at this early age?

That is usally the first thing I check on young kids is the eye dominance. its easier to train the muscles then the eye. But you can put a patch on the left eye if changing a bow is not an option.

It'll be better for her in the long run to switch her to shooting left handed. I'm also left eye dominant and right handed but learned to shoot everything (bows, rifles, shotguns) righty. As I get older and my eyes get worse, I find it more necessary to close my left eye and the more it seems to effect my shooting (the only time I wear corrective lenses is when shooting).

Well after all the reading I did yesterday I ordered her a Left Handed bow last night.

The expense of custom made rifles keeps going through my head but if she will shoot better in the end it is best for her and I will bite the bullet right from the start.

So as soon as I get it and make sure we are alright I will put that little pink nuclear up for sale.

Thanks again

Matt

I shoot left handed and have never had to order a custom gun.

That's what I did for my son. He is also right handed and left eye dominant. I gave up an got the left handed bow when I watched him shooting a right handed bow held in his right hand. He was a lot better, so I got him the lefty bow. It was just natural for him to shoot left handed.
