Bear Kodiak Magnum recurve
I just purchased a vintage Bear Kodiak Magnum recurve. When I removed the old striker plate I noticed the number 44 written on the shelf under the clear coat. I was wondering if anyone knows why it is there and what it means?

I think that is the actual draw weight of the bow
