Is that a new model? I don't see it on Bob's web page.

I've got a good friend who just last year dropped his agreement with Hoyt and went back to recurves.
He says it's the most enjoyment he's got out of shooting in years.
Good luck and have fun.

47 pound long bow....what are you The Hulks brother?
I tried a 40 pound recurve that kicked my butt after half a round.

In the grander scheme of things it is the simplicity of the longbow; a piece of wood and a string that is warm in the hand, an extension of the person holding it. When I shoot a longbow I feel the bow and it seems to come alive in my hand and with it I become an archer again. I need no mechanical advantage, no rest, no sight, no release, no stabilizers, and no dampeners it’s just me a piece of wood and a string….. A feeling I lost, a feeling I missed, a feeling I love...

Are you shooting cedar arrows? Can you even find cedar shafts anymore?
I use to shoot mico-flight #7 and # 8 (fiberglass arrows), bear broadheads with bleeder blades.

I know what you mean.
I shoot compounds for competition. A lot of great shooters around here and I'm too competitive for my own good.
My recurve is for hunting. It's actually a better weapon for the close shots we get in the woods around here.
my longbow - I shoot it to relax & watch the arrows fly. I'm not good enough with it for hunting, but it's a lot of fun walking in the woods shooting at "trophy" stumps.

Yep javi they are fun. I'm not proficient enough with mine to hunt with it. I hope one day to get there. Compound will still be my primary hunting bow but wouldn't mind chasing some does with my recurve.

A simple recurve or a longbow sure takes any mehanical advantage away, but it is'nt any easier.
Try it. You'll see.

I started shooting bows in '59 and I didn't start compounds until 15 years ago... Compounds have changed into something I no longer associate with fun... they are short, ugly and have no feel anymore...

yeah , the only true limb made for compounds anymore is Hoyt's XT3000. Sad but true.

That's cause you got that short ugly Triumph...........we tried telling ya to buy a real bow.
Someday I'm gonna do the same, get me a nice longbow and enjoy a slow walk through the woods without thinking about hitting the next ten.
Maybe next year.
