i have been thinking about gettin a peep verifyer for a clearer sight picture because im far sighted and the pin blurs the target behind it sometimes. does any1 kno how much it will cost? and do u have to get a diffrent peep sight? and can u use for hunting?

Specialty Archery
Specialty Archery make verifiers, clairifier, and several types of peeps to put 'em in. They tell whats what better than I can so I'll post the link. And yep, they work ! I use the #5 and both pin and target clear as as teen!

Lancaster wants $27 for a verifier, and 20 for the peep to hold it, and what ever to ship. The member who runs this shop doesn't seem to have them, but you could ask.

I'm in the same boat as you AA. Getting where I can't see my pins for nothing. If you look on the Specialty Archery sight they list dealers that have displays to check out. I'm going tomorrow to check them out hopefully it will do the trick.

I have a #7 verifier, had blurry pins. Not anymore Dealers have this small strip with each lens mounted and a string attached to a fiber pin you hold like your bow, find the lens that gives you best of both sight pictures.

you are right. the company that sells them is archery specality and i have a hooded peep and use the number 5 pin verifier also have the number 6 to play with but i think its too strong. they just came out with the number 4 verifier i am going to try this one i think that one will be the best on both the pins and the target.

Man, you don't spell any better here than you do over on the Tech Forum. LOL. It's Specialty Archery.

Yes, but Clarifiers' primary use is for clearing up the target for those who use a scope. Verifiers are for those of us with old eyes or those having trouble with blurry pins.
I use a Verifer for the same reasons as most and I will adamently suggest finding a dealer that stocks them and trying them. There are different diopters and if you get one with too much diopter it can clear up the pins but blur the target, sometimes badly. They can help, but are too expensive to just mail order without knowing which is best for your own eyes.
The Verifier lenses are numbered 5 thru 9 and also color coded. Start with a low diopter and work up to your best compromise between clear pins and clear target. Just recently Specialty came out with a #4.
One thing nice about the whole setup is that the peeps are threaded and different sized apertures and all the lenses can be swapped out without moving or replacing the peep itself.

Yep, according to what I could find they are legal in all classes that allow sights in both the IBO and ASA (couldn't find anything about them for NFAA).

I actually use a 3/32"#1 (yellow) clarifier to clear up targets (also helps w/pins) but do NOT use a scope. It works great, (needed just a little help) Im older but my eyes still aren't too bad, yet.

Yep, thats what verifiers do. mentioned earlier they have a new , weaker lens, #4, I use a #5 in the hooded peep on my hunter and a #6 on the 55#er with the 2X lens on the HHA. I see target and pin clearly. No halo.
