Just bought a bike..
I know, where the hell did this come from?
My wife thinks midlife, maybe she's right, I did jump from an airplane last fall for the first time, and plan on doing that again. Maybe I'll ride the Kawi to the airport too. Is it really a midlife crisis or is it that I've reached the stage where I haven't much to loose?
Bought an 05 Concours, more of a touring bike than a crotch-rocket. My days of burn-outs and wheelies are over (almost). I grew up on dirt and then moved on to street bikes, but haven't had one in 15 years. Celebrating the oldest boy's graduation from college this June. One down, one to go.

J.C. I'll get pics when it comes home. You bet. It's still at the former owners untill paperwork goes through.
Wheely, don't wish it away (and I don't think you are), but kids are more work when they're young, but tougher when the get teen-age+. I don't regret setting ME aside in those years at all. Once you have them, it's the right thing to do. I still have a 14 YO at home, and he's me, 36 years later. I hug my mother every time I see here. I don't know how she survived it.
I have several years left to get him up and out, but I see a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel.

nope, not a midlife crisis. it's known as the " great american way." work your butt off half your life paying for a house, putting your kids though collage and paying for a few that dont like to work. now it's your time to have some fun. go for it.

That's a nice bike. It was in the running when I bought my last one. It's probably a bit more comfy than my M109R but my bike is a lot of fun.

Computer issue photo, but the same.
The days of seeking tripple digits are over for me, just want to have fun and get there and back.

My bad on the man-law thing.
I have it partially disassembled at the moment for maintenance work. Should be back together in a few weeks, for the photo-shoot. Being a little anal, but I want to take care of a few things on the bike first before I ride it much.

Well I just bought a bike too. Thunderstorms all day so it is still 25 miles from home. '05 Honda VTX 1300S. Will post pics as soon as I get it home. Nice little ride in some sprinkles today. Been awhile, I forgot how nice riding is.

Congrats on your new bike. I was looking at the new Can Ams. But I really need to sell my GSXR1K if anyone is looking.

My bad on no pics yet..
Did a valve adjustment (more work to get to them than doing it), oil/filter change, pulled off the bank of carbs (this sucks, never again I hope) and sent them out for work, re-installed them , air filter cleaning and re-oiled, installed a "kit" to get rid of false emissions extras, put lowered pegs on, adjusted brake and shift pedals to fit. It's been apart more than together, but it's coming along. Still need to flush/fill coolant, brakes, and suspension to start from scratch. Have only taken a few short rides to verify work done. REALLY looking forward to a few days to ride around New England this summer. It's been almost 20 years since I used to do that.
