A used Carter or TruBall.Theyre made so well and theyre expensive ,most people who buy them take good care of them . Stay away from the Truballs that dont have the silverish ****ing lever on the back.
I own 8 or 9 currently . Bought them all used, looking for " the one" in terms of" fit " . I havenyt bought a bad one yet, but have releases that I like more then others. I like the open hook heads the most.

New High end thumb activators depretiate about 40% instantly and if well kept hold 50-60% of theyre value indefinetly. Much like a Spot Hogg "Hogg It" Pin sight.

Is there anyone near you that you could try one, say a friend or dealer?
The fit and feel of the release in your hand can be very personal, even more so than bows. At the least, trying a few to see how they feel and fit in your hand could give you an idea for shopping for used ones.

I ve used and like Carter's Just-B-Cause
right now I'm using a Stan Shoot-off. I love the adjustment of this release without changing a spring. It fit good in the hand too.

The best bang for my buck is the best product available....reason being most of the good thumb triggers are gonna cost a pretty penny anyway. Carters are all in the $180 range. Stans are $200...TRU Balls are $165-200 for the top end they make a Max line now that is much cheaper but they don't hold a candle to the others and for me aren't worth my money. The Hot Shots are $175 the Hoggs are $120.
For me I want quality and what fits my needs and what I like.....that is what gives me the best bang for my buck/ When you buy that $80 release that you aren't happy with or that isn't any good and you have to spend another $150 on something else.....your buck just got bent over and banged.

stan isn't the cheapest but the customer service and ease of adjustment is the greatest very very nice releases IMO worth the money

I agree, just sent in my shoot-off cause it was tearing loops up.
They had it repaired and sent back to me in no time. I was planning on changing to a hinge during the repair and never even had time to set the hinge up before it was returned. Awsome service
