Default Need advice

The Magellan 4040 units we bought five years ago are all shot now. Worked okay while they worked but since I am buying all new units for five cars (Christmas gifts) I am wondering if there are better choices. I had issues with the Magellan losing power frequently (even when plugged into the cig lighter) and it sucked offroad. A unit that provided GPS coords would be great for offroad romps (hunting). Just want a bulletproof unit that doesn't lose suction while I'm driving and also has a bluetooth connection for hands-free talking on the cell. I also like being able to locate things like gas stations, hotels, restaurants, ATMs, etc using the nav. Thanks.

This is the units i bought 5 yrs ago but they no longer even start up. The mounting hardware was weak too, easily broken cheap plastic crap.

Use free app on any smartphone. They are free and I have never had any problems. You can even use some of them as a handheld to hunt with.

I have owned a tom tom for several years and never had an issue. That is all I can say about them. I am sure they are much better now than when I bought mine.
