I have a TC encore. with alittle playing it is a good 200 yard gun.
Took one alittle over 200 last year. Rifles are not allowed here in the horn of michigan so I prefer it over a shot gun.
Keys to making it a 200 yard gun........don't use pellets, use loose powder and weight it if possible. Use a good heavy slug, a 300 grain bullet might drop acouple inches more than a 250 grain bullet at 200 yards but the 300 grain bullet will be much more consistent at that distance.

My knight disc extream 45 cal with 110 gr of powder and 200 grain sst will drive tacks at 200 yrds..I would rather use it than a shot gun ,even won a couple pbrs off some out of state hunters last year when i introduced a doe to the dirt at 225yrds standing in a field... ...

Here's what I think !
WOW , I guess that I'm behind the times as I'm a former shotgun hunter , using a smooth bore with scope or red dot !
Good to know how good a muzzleloader is !
And to think that as an archer , I have deer at point blank range under my ladder stand / hang on !

A little known fact !
I forgot to inform you all , that today while I hunted only this afternoon that the " Hutch's hex " took me and I never saw a deer critter from my ladderstand !
I'll be there tomorrow again , as I don't give up so easy !
Now you know and you are !

using the same amount of powder (buckhorn) and 300 grain SST but in 50 cal.
I was looking at the extream when they first come out but couldn't find one in my area so I ended up with the Encore (not that I'm complaining, it's a great gun)

The only reason i got a knight was they were made an hour or so from my house and they use to have a sale every spring .A $100 vs 600 made my mind up,encore was my first choice...

A little known fact !
Today , well things didn't go so good this morning as I shot a large doe alittle before she enter one of my shooting lanes , I hit a branch with my arrow and it rocket all over like a ping-pomg ball ! I was afraid that since I was using my Jennings " Buckmaster " that it might go all the way to China and get me in a whole lot of trouble !
Those deer never left looking at what was happening , cause that arrow was just screaming as that rage broadhead was cutting air as it bounced around !
Than it looked like "yours truly " was going to get another shot , but the wife called me on my cell phone and I was busted !
White flags and they were gone !
Now you know and you are !

I think that officials from China will be visiting Yellowsmoke to see who fired that arrow and just what kind of a bow can fling an arrow to do that ?
I didn't see one critter today , guess that super deep crater got them all scared or maybe they all went to China ?
I'm going to lay low for awhile !
