These are cedar 55/60 spine arrows I made using my home made cresting machine I made. I use them to shoot out of a Longbow made by Bill Griffen of Zona custom longbows.

Love shooting traditional equipment now and than.

those look great...

I havent shot wood arrows yet. I'm about to buy some. I'm playing around with cresting and feather splicing on aluminum shafts and will try to post some pics over the next day or so.

how about a pic of yourself...maybe start with a foot or something....

Comment. Shooting a recurve or longbow accurately is much harder than than the same accuracy with a compound with all the bells and whistles at the same distance. Try it sometime, you'll likely be humbled. Similar accuracy may be obtained, but not without alot of homework. I have the utmost respect for a good trad shooter. I've been trying to shoot both types for a few years.

I tried the recurve thing too. I learn alot about myself, mostly that I got no god given talent for archery.

If I want to impress anybody I got to have wheels and a site.

yeah, it is very humbling, but pretty fun too. I'm playing around with heavier spines and point weights trying to get my gap as small as I can. it's starting to show some results.

If you still have it, move up close and work on having a consistent release where you pull through the shot straight back towards your shoulder. and by close I mean 10 or 15 feet if necessary...

Thanks. I actually got that one form my welding instructor for $35. The IA one I picked up for $10 at a local thrift store.

Unless you got that Hoyt 4PM a LONG time ago for $35, you should be in jail, You stole it! Very cool that it has all the stabs too. It's a high quality bow from it's era. Good stats and the right pounds for really learning how to shoot without being overbowed..
Javi that's quite a change. Is that sight window a straight taper to the limb area or is it straight up and then curve out?

No stack, and the handle forward really helps with the shootability... this bow is already like a part of me after only a couple of days of shooting it...

Yup early 70's Grizzly bow and early 70's Grizzly me LOL
Finshed 7th on both days. This was my first 3d shoot with trad gear, there is another trad 2 day shoot this weekend I'm going to shot at. Had a blast this weekend. I was shooting 3 under but switched back to split half way threw the first day and started shooting better. I switch back and forth to much I need to keep with oneway and stay with it.

This next weekend (EASTER) my local club hold the largest Trad shoot in the Country over the 4 Days check it out it's called Easter Reniviuos I thinks ???The Club is North Albert Field Archers or NAFA get on goggle and have a look if you want?they get somewhere between 2-3 hundred shooter to this event went last year but my type aren't welcome as my bow have training whels on them!!!Might just go deer hunting instead and spend time with the family
