Default Can I shorten arrows?

I am considering using a clicker on my target recurve. Problem is that my arrows do not clear the clicker plate that came with the bow. They are just at the edge, and I would like to know if I can trim 1/4 to 3/8 inch from the back end. Could it be done without removing the fletching? Would I need to somehow remove the sharp edge after cutting?

Any advice would be appreciated.
