Starting 56 years of Bowhunting
I'm NEW to this board & just made a photo album of just a few of my many & fortunate Bowhunts. 99% of my Bowhunts have been Do it yourself & I have been blessed with many in my journy through life. 13 states (maybe a couple more) & 2 Canadian provinces (so far).
I started in organized Archery/Bowhunting in 1956 & have never stopped. I've been in about every phase of archery you can imagine from Pro Shop/Lanes owner to Archery Column writer & stories for magazines to local club offices as well as a few state positions back in my younger days.
I've seen Bowhunting go from recurves/longbows to compounds & wood Arrows with feathers to the Aluminum & Carbon of today & Unbeleivable changes in Broadheads. Todays Bowhunter has so much better Biggame hunting BUT it comes with unfoortunatly, a high price for a tag. My 1st NR Elk tag was $25 & included a Mule deer & I could hunt anyplace in the state (Colorado). A Non Res. Deer tag in Ws. was $10 & INCLUDED a BEAR & ALL smallgame if taken with a bow. Imagine that.
Today I enjoy Bowhunting with my Grown Daughter, Son, Son-in-law & one G-son now old enough to Bowhunt. I am truly blessed.

Pretty good bunch of guys here, if you don't a little heckling now and then. All in good spirit.

For all you-it has to be "this brand to win"..
It's the NUT behind the bow that makes it happen.
Cost of a day of Archery fun. Get up @ 5:30am to pick G-son up 3 hours away, drive another hour to the 3-D shoot at South Central Bowhunters.
Gas $50+ Registratiion for 2 $15 Food $18 Lost/damaged arrows $20
3 1/2 hours of shooting in 90+ degree weather---several gallons of sweat
Look on 13 year old G-sons face when scores were tallied & he beat G-Pa by 35 points PRICELESS. Home at 9pm We had tons of laughs.

NO Truck, I Gave my JEEP to my middle Daughter (she Bowhunts too) BUT I can use it anytime I want if needed to get into a hunting spot.
Other wise a Black Nissan Seneca or Silver Grey Pontiac Grand Prix GT.
I check in at AT & Bowsite & HuntingNet also...

Yea, complaining about not getting a big buck-I've not killed a Buck in 6 years.
Haven't been able to get that "personal" goal one..

My yard is LEGAL to Bowhunt & this guy was 12 feet from my Deck. He was out about 25 yds. (during season) & I told my wife-he's a 12, I'm gonna kill him. She said awe, you've killed a ton of deer, let him have 1 more year of chasing those MaMa deer so he got a pass. I saw him after gun season so he's still around..We will see what 2012 is like...
Good luck to all this summer if your a tourny shooter & this fall when season gets going..

gatereye-All kidding aside, I don't know why these baiters don't use bird seed-the DEER love this stuff.
You can see the tree is the same in all pics to give you an idea..
I have 5 bird feeders & 1 squirrell corn holder (year round) & when they come up, if the birds haven't gotten it all, they take the rest...
