Missouri resident looking to get into it too

I would really like to get into archery, but I know so little about it. My best friend is into it and has her own bow and arrows, but I don't even know how she got into it. (I haven't asked because I don't want her to think that I'm doing it just because she is). Are local clubs the best way to get into it? Can I just walk in, tell them I don't know what I'm doing but would like to and they will help me out? How would I go about that?

I'm guessing your friend would be pleased to help you get started. We archers tend to take great joy in helping others into our addiction, makes us feel better about ourselves and our issues I suppose.
