New to the forum

I've been shooting guns for years and recently I was diagnosed with tinnitus and I'm sure it was the loud sounds I've been exposed to. I'm looking at crossbows as way to keep up with target shooting without the sound. I've been looking at light weight bows like the Parker challenger, something my wife could use too. Is this a good model?? or is there as a better one.

Mathews/Mission is coming out/came out with a crossbow, and the 2 reviews ive heard haz it bein a pretty good shooter. Not sure of the price tag though.

I'm a longtime mathews bow shooter and if I had to go with a crossbow I would be looking at the manufactures who have been making crossbows for a while, not just the newest. Your not going to find many crossbow users here. This is an archery forum.
Crossbows are not Archery. They are in the gun department.

The last time I shot a gun I don't remember the ammo being 20" long, at least in a hand gun. Thanks everyone for the help.

I don't have hardly any experience myself but a guy I know who had to give up vertical bows several years ago says look a TenPoints.

Parker makes a good crossbow check out all you can and find the one you both like. But like with everything else you get what you pay for.

Very true, I like the fact that Parker has a lifetime warranty.

Sorry that I sound negative towards crossbows, but I am. Unless you can't draw a bow.
Your talking about a hearing issue. Not a physically unable to draw issue.
I don't recall any adults shooting 20" arrows from a bow.
Shotguns shoot shells, crossbows shoot bolts, bows shoot arrows.
If it's predrawn and held at full draw mechanicly, with only a saftey away from the trigger, it's not a bow as we know it IMO. My opinion.
I would welcome the option of a crossbow during SG or ML season however, just not in archery season unless you are somehow physically handicapped.. But let's not confuse it with a bow. If you want to do archery shoot a bow, not a crossbow.

I may agree some what with Red , but I'd bet if they made crossbows legal in my state , that there WOULD BE ALOT OF THEM in the woods !
