Who here does it , as that's my main reason to bowhunt deer ?

Never done it myself... but I am looking to cook up some steaks cut out of back straps... any pointers? Prep/cook/served with?

Yep; pretty easy. Cut in to strips, marinade as desired, put in dehydrator and press the go button. Oh forgot last step, grab some ASAP before daughters steal it all.

I grind mine into hamburger and use a jerky gun to make it into strips. I just use the pre-measured packs of seasonings from Wally World. Then put it in the dehydrator. I cook mine between 6-7 hrs on 160 degrees.

Making some this weekend.

Cutting the strips tonight, soak on sat. and put it in the smoker all day sunday.

Of course I have to tend to the smoker all day Sunday so I get to sit in the barn watch football and drink beer all day. Should be a good weekend.
