Default Just finished my new string jig!

Just built a new string jig and stand. Makes it a lot easier to build strings.

I used a 550lb game scale from sportsman guide. I wanted the option of 450 pounds. I will be changing is to a commercial digital scale later.

That is awesome. I need something sturdy like that. But I prefer to make my strings using the tag ends so only need two post.

Now if I can just find someone to make me what I want

I do mainly tag ends. I have the four post for the customers that want end servings. I haven't taken pics but I have added another stretcher and soon to add another. It will save a lot of time having the capability to do 3 at once.

Most use 1 twist for every 1.5" I use 1 twist for every 1.75 just works out better for me. Seem's there is a limit on twist if you go to much the peep will start rotating.

Default thanks Led

I knew I have heard a ratio before and was pulling some thing out of the air that sounded correct. I think in order to have some flexability 1 in 1.75 sounds good. Thanks agian

Most of the pro builders use the 1 twist per 1.5 inches for consistency in the string and minimum peep rotation. So as ledzeppelin said some use 1 to 1.5 ratio and he uses 1 to 1.75 which works for him. I believe you need to find what works best for you I have tried many combos and came up with the best one for me. But the two we have listed here seem to be the best.

I like the looks of your jig.
You have probably been asked this a thousand times, but is this something that you might build and sell?

Unfortunately I am not set up to build and sell these. It would be a great way to make extra money. But it would be costly. I make extra money by selling Custom strings.
Thanks for asking!
