Default Draw Length

I had my new bow set up at the shop I bought it but I am wondering if the draw length is correct. My left arm holding the bow is bent a lot. I think my arm should be straighter? How about you guys, is you bow arm straight or bent a lot? Thanks

Default Wow

WOW! nobody? That's OK, I set it up 1/2 longer and it feels better now. Now my arm is not bent as much but still not locked. Thanks any way.

Talking Just a rookie myself...

so I'm not sure what cred I would have here;but the very knowledgeable expert I got started with had me learn to shoot without the need for an arm guard. That meant a small amount of bend in the arm, but still as extended and powerful a position I can keep my bow arm in while being well within my ability to hold full draw. I've yet to use or need an arm guard.

Rocky some of us have jobs and families and can't always log on daily. Draw lenth is an important part of the equation. My bow arm is not locked straight out.
As a hunter I need some room for less than ideal shot angles. If I set up a bow that maxes out my DL on flat ground just target shooting I'm going to have a hard time trying to shoot a deer right under me on the stand. Depends on what your intentions are. Though I can't think of a scenario where a too long DL will help.
