3Dshoots.com Vegas Style Indoor League
QSA had a great idea in starting this league up. I will do my best to run it fairly and more importantly funly (if that is a word....). There will be a few rules so here we go.
1. Have fun.
2. Scores must be shot from 20 yards.
3. Target face must be the official "Vegas" 3 spot target face.
4. Scoring will be 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 (an X counts as an 11)
5. We will be shooting 10 ends with a posible score of 300, 30x
6. Score linecutters for the higher score.
7. Scores must be PM'd to me by each Monday at midnight edt. You can shoot the score anytime before that. Once you submit a score, that is the one that counts. No submitting a better score later on.
8. Be honest. This is for everyone's benefit. You will not improve as an archer if you cheat yourself.
9. Have fun.
PM me the scores in the following format:
33,33,33,33,33,33,33,33,33,33 30x
This will help with tie breakers and scoring. I will keep track of X counts also and maybe we can have a prize for the largest X count at the end. Depending on the number of shooters, I will sit down one or several shooters each end. At the end, points will be assigned by finishing position. The top 10 shooters will receive points. 10 points for 1st place, 9 for second, 8 for 3rd, etc. These points will be used to keep track of the standings through the 4 weeks.
If I have forgotten anything, please let me know. Please keep this thread on topic so I don't have to wade through a bunch of nonsense. Each week, I will start a new thread with the date on it so we can find them easier. If Chris can make this thread a sticky, I will keep track of the running scores here.

How long do we want to go? Do we want to give points for the top 10 or top 5? The top 5 would keep everyone closer....

I'm sure they are drooling at the thought as we speak.
I will donate a dozen customized wraps to the winner each week. I would like a grand prize for the overall winner, a prize for the x count champ, and a 2nd or 3rd place prize would be awesome also.
If anyone else would like to donate. You can post here or send me a PM.
Thanks for your offer Jim, very generous of you...

we need one more rule for this to keep it far. Where I shot we can shoot up until 7 o'clock thats when it starts then we have 2 practice rounds the we start scoring. So we can shoot as much as we want for practice, But each person needs to pick a time and date that is good for them. We do not need to no when it is. That is when to set up the target, shoot 2 rounds to deal in your bow, shoot 2 practice rounds then shoot for score. That is the score you post.
Because I was thinking what would keep me from shooting all day Saturday and Sunday and picking my best score to post. I am learning my new bow, but I could get out my other target bow out and shoot for 2 days and come up with some where in the 290s with a high X count.
S I hope you see my point. this way it is like a Vegas shot, pick your day, shoot and post that score. That way no one keeps trying to up there self. But practice all you want.
What do you all think? Am I right or wrong, because I am new to this.

Dan has a good point here. What it is going to come down to is honesty. Everyone needs to be honest. There is really no way to police this on the internet. What everyone needs to ask themselves is this; "Is it really worth my integrity to cheat to win a dozen wraps or whatever else might be given as a prize?" Personally, I hold my integrity as my most important asset. This shoot is about having fun, building friendships, improving as archers, and talking a little smack. I spoke to Dan tonight on the phone and he has some good ideas about how to grow this deal and keep it going. This is all going to depend on everyones honesty and how we enjoy ourselves. All I can ask is that everyone treat this as if they were surrounded by fellow archers. Shoot a couple practice ends, tell yourself the next end is for all the marbles, and post the score you shoot.
If anyone else has any ideas on this, please share....

I'm in, but one question.......if you shoot 10 ends and have a possible of 33pts per end then the possible total would be 330pts, right.

Yes. For our purposes, there is 330 possible. In the real world, "X"s are still only worth 10 and therefore it is a 300 round. I am making them worth 11 to make the scoring and elimination easier. There will be a lot of 30s shot, but not so many 33's....
