Lets talk speed nocks or speed buttons or as I like to call em....

I see bows with these high IBOs and speed buttons up and down the string, yet other bows with none on there string usually get dogged cause they are slow.
I bet you put 6-8 of them puppies on a Mathews, Pearson, or Ross and the IBO rating would go up quite a bit...

What is your take on em?
You think they should limit IBO speeds without em?

Been there...done that...

Unfortunately...........the Point of Diminishing Returns applies here.

On my Bowtech's, 2 speed nocks at a 4" straight line dimension from the centerline of the axle's pins is the SWEET SPOT.

BTW...that's what the factory spec's!!!

As fas as other bow's....I don't know....I suppose you could experiment.

I just put a new string/cable on mt Allegiance yesterday and I just copied the location of the original speed nocks, which has been handed down for 3 string/cable sets now... I have not read anything useful about using those things, I just copy the way the stock string is set up.

Speed nocks do work in most cases. However it takes some experimenting to find the optimal point and optimal number of nocks.

Exactly, it's all expermentation and to do it effectively you have to have your own chronograph. Where do you put them on the string and how many do you use? That's why it's called experimentation.

How much will you gain? Usually pretty negligible considering the time involved so maybe that's why most factories don't go through the hassle.

And in a lot of cases you may see a speed loss.

As far as Mathews goes, My Z-Max has then on it. It was one of there speed bows.

Yea, I think my old Black Max had em on there too.

I only gain 2 ft per second with them. Ive tried both ways with and without mine are more on the tuning aspect of it. Takes out string vib. And theres only 5 noc sets at each end on the X not 6-8 lol. Get some rest M

I use BowJax Ultra IIs I can adjust em up and down the string for the best position and they have a dampening purpose as well.

I have done that as well. They will help most bows, but too many will have the opposite effect.

Yep I try speed nocks on all my bows. Sometimes I pickup 8 fps or so and other times I only get 2-4 fps but almost always they gain speed. Some of it depends on the bow and the draw length on how the bow will respond to them. A chronograph and time is all it takes.

I read something Griv wrote about them one time. It said speed nocks also helps the string return into the cam track faster and smoother, making a smoother shot and less string vibiration.

I had some eliminator buttons on my Jennings and gained about 2fps. I had 2 at each end. Never did experiment with them.
