Is it really worth the extra $$$$$

Hello everyone.

It's has been over a year since I last visited this site. I've been busy making a living and putting two kids through college. It's amazing how this site has grown.

Anyway, I have a question and need opinions, and this seems the perfect place to ask.....and by the looks of it after reading a lot of threads I'm sure to get opinions.

I am getting ready for the up coming Okla. Deer archery season, starts Oct. 1st., and I am looking to purchase some new arrows. I have been shooting GT Pro Hunters for the past 3 yrs. and really like them. But I could save 30.00 dollars per dozen if I purchased the GT XT Hunter shafts.
Will there be that much of a noticable difference between the two? Will the .001 staightness of the Pro Hunters out perform the .003 straightness of the XT's? All other specs of the shafts are the same.

Now I don't mind spending the extra 30.00.....but 30.00 dollars is 30.00 dollars.
Will there be a noticable difference or am I just buying peace of mind to say I have arrows that are .002 straighter?

This may be just me but I dont think the average guy is going to notice the difference between .001 and .003.

Now if you were a world class archer or something like that you probly would. Personally I would probly vote to save the $30

AND you were shooting competition shoots. For just hunting purposes, I vote to save the 30 as well. Now if you are shooting deer at 70 yards, you may opt for the .001's.

You will never notice the difference hunting. Save the 30 dollars.

I know several Okie's that shoot the xt Hunters, and they love them.

Hey Chad this is Chuck. I shoot the Pro hunters for tourney and the Xt Green labels for hunting. You won't know the difference. Save the $30.00. You aren't trying to hit the 44 yard 14 ring like at Metropolis. And the .003 are a good arrow as well. Are you going to the Classic? Talk to you soon.

I hunt with the XT and Tim Gillingham recommends them for hunting.

I actually used the silver labeled ones for 3d this year.

Save the $30.00 for broadheads.

I don't know about where you live/hunt but around these parts most deer are taken at less than 30 yards. I shoot $45/dozen Carbon Fury's that you get at Bass Pro for hunting and they are plenty consistent/accurate for taking a deer at less than 30 yards.

I think I'll go with the XT Hunters. I did talk with the local pro shop owner and he said that out of a shooting machine at 40 yrd's the XT's shoot just as well as the Pro Hunters. No difference at all. But, he will gladly sell me the Pro Hunters if that's what I want.

Sometimes I think we just get caught up in advertising hype.

Hey Hook em, are you a longhorn fan. The Red River Rivalry game in the Cotton Bowl this Oct.....any opinions?
