Default Fletching blazers with a bitz

So the last time I fletched anything with my bitz, it was 4" feathers with max right helical.....I was wondering why I was having such trouble putting on those blazers....live and learn! I managed to do it, but it was a pain putting all that helical in a blazer! Hopefully they will fly well or I will have to replace those beautiful new wraps! I just know they are gonna fly like crapola...don't you hate it when you do something stupid like that!

It's been awhile since I fletched blazers with my Bitz, but I think I locked my lower index knob all the way to the left and then got down to eye level with the arrow and rotated the top knob until I got full contact with the base of the vane and then locked it.

I put a good amount of helical on my Blazers with my bitz. I just line them up so they lay flat without glue by sight, then glue them on and have had great results shooting fixed blade heads. Here is a pic maybe you can get an idea of the amount of offset from, one shot at 30 then 40 and finally 50yds. Check out the top right arrow white fletch.

Thats the third insert since it was new, the first vitals, the others were loose layers. You have to be a bit careful, there is a steel tubing to keep the shape in the neck, leg, belly and the back. If you are too far off you get a busted arrow, makes you a better shot and shows you what your real range is pretty quickly.

It has seen a lot of broadheads in it's day, not just from me but a few friends and family also. Anymore I just shoot fld. pts. until a couple of weeks before hunting season.

Default twist

I have a bitz with a straight clamp. Would a clamp with right or left twist be a lot better?

I fletch all my blazers straight with an offset. No problems with arrow flight here...

Same setup here, don't have a problem stabilizing flight.

I fletch with a bitz all the time... allow me to provide some guidance

NEVER EVER EVER USE BOHNING FLETCH-TITE PLATINUM!!!!

Use Goat tuff and make sure it is spread out well, also make sure you puit a dab on the front, they like to lift up.

some offset is needed but it doesn't have to be a lot. only a little bit will work fine

I use Fletch-tite Platimun all the time... What's wrong with it??? Aren't the blazers supposed to fall off when you graze them with your thumb???

I use Saunders NPV cement. It holds really well just slower to set up than the super glues. I also clean the shafts with 99% alcohol before gluing. Bought some Platinum fletch tite but never used it, why change what works?

Bitz or no Bitz. Try doing a helical with Bazers on an East Axis or Beman HIT arrow...
That'll be enough to make you give up fletching your own arrows... (Maybe not but it'll make you think about it.)
