Prestige or Apex 7
What is your take on the better fit for a 3D bow?
I was leaning toward the prestige but I can get a good deal on an Apex 7 too. Decisions decisions.....

I bet you'll LOVE the Prestige for 3D! It's a smoker!
I shoot one in 28.5 and love it.
I had an A7, which I got pissed at and sold too early...I will have another but it will be an indoor bow.......The Prestige rules outdoors...

Yeah, mainly for outdoor and indoor 3D, I may give it a go for spots but I don't know if I'll have the time to shoot both series this winter.

The Prestige would be a real smoker for me at 29" but it just does not fit me at all. So the way I see it is shoot the one that feels best for you.

so here is my answer and my reasons.....
in 3d, speed is not everything but it helps.....
you have a 27.5" draw........hmmmm like me....
I personally would go w/a Prestige at this point as you will never get near 300fps w/your short dino arms( i have the same problem) on an Apex7......
I had my prestige right at 300fps....27.5 inch draw, 61 pounds....320 grain arrow
The Prestige is an awsome 3d bow......its light enough to add weight where you want it.....
the Apex 7 or Conquest 4 for indoor spots.....

Thats the problem, being LH I don't have the luxury of shooting all the diff. models. The only LH bow @ proshops I can find is usually a Drenalin. It would be nice to try before you buy, but theres not much turn around for guys I guess to order one and then not have a buyer.

well with 61 pounds and a 320 grain arrow I am getting 300
I am 15 grains over so if you went w/a 350gr arrow....you might see 304 305.....MAYBE a BIG maybe.....
Why 70 lbs??

Why shoot second best???
Get yourself a Scepter IV, slap mag limbs and nitrous "X" cams on it and don't look back.....
Sure, the zombified masses will make fun of you and call you a cool-aid drinking fanboy, but at least you'll be without plastic bushings and that old school cable guard thingy......
I had an A7 and didn't really like it. I liked the C4 much better.....

With my Conquest 4, using 80% let off, set at 64lbs, I was shooting 294fps with a 326g arrow.
With the A7, I was shooting around 60lbs with 65% letoff. Same arrow was around 290fps.
I was holding fewer lbs at full draw with the C4 and getting more speed. The C4 comes closer to shooting the advertised IBO speeds than any other Mathews bow....IMO of course....

I dunno, cause I can I guess, and that's what weight my XTs at. How much stiffer of a draw is the Prestige over and XT or Drenalin?

You do realize that a 70 lb bow shooting a 350 grain arrow will shoot the same speed as a 60 lb bow shooting a 300 grain arrow????

stiffer draw?? a bit....
its the grip or lack there of that you will need to get used too....
MY SUGGESTION to you is go w/60 lbs....that way you could shoot it indoor if you get in a pinch......
I also went w/65% let off.....it hold nicer too me......

I didn't think it would be exactly the same, thatswhy I asked, but thats not why I was going to go w/ the 70#. I pull 70# comfortably and I thought it would be and easy transition between shooting my hunting setup and 3D setup during hunting season

I have not crono'ed my Prestige - but it is the fasted thing I have ever shot....60 pounds with a 300 grain X- Cutter
I personally think it draws and holds nice...It's no Switchback, but it is NO Legacy.......
The grip is a bit thinner than the PERFECT grip on the Apex's

It will be within a couple fps. If you like 70lbs, go for it. Over time, you'll feel it in your elbow and shoulder. If you shoot 3D to stay in touch with your hunting set-up, then that is probably a great plan.

I can attest to this I am used to my XT at 70# when I bought my Ovation it is 50# max and I am having issues getting used to it. I think from now on I am going to buy bows that are 60# across the board.
