I'm cursed!
Or the deer is! I saw the 6 pointer I shot a few weeks ago... well I think it was the same one.
I shot him, got about 6 inches of penetration, 0 blood trail and he snapped off my arrow. about 17 yard shot. No clue what I hit. We let him run for about 1 1/2 hours. found a single minor spot of blood showing that he went into a field that is nearly impossible to track through and after 2 hours of looking and finding 0 other blood we called off the search.
I Looked around for several hours for the deer as there is literally NO trail. Heading out to look again today... This deer will not die! I think I hit him high again, possibly high forward this time.
I've also lost all faith in my equipment. I know exactly where I put the arrow and clearly that isn't where I hit. I'm retuning the bow and grabbing some arrows from my dad that should work fine. I'm going to shoot it in today until I'm happy with the results or I'm not going back out again.
I just hung it up and did some measurements... it looks like my rest moved a tiny bit, no clue when that happened or how. Could have been getting bumped on the stand on opening morning... I'll be back later with reports of how the retuning went.

Hey Big D dont let it get you down buddy. These things happen. You should only stop hunting when these things no longer bother you. I hope you get that stud soon.
