Even the Bunnies are nocturnal! Looks to me like that one doe is a beast(mabey its just me), the bag doe is the yikes, 2 little guys figuring things out and, and nice 10.

Don't know what it is....kangaroo pouch. I'm sure it's the same type of cystic growth that I saw on a buddy of mines trail cam pics last year. On his property a doe has the same sort of thing on her face instead of between her front legs. She comes in during shooting hours I will take her off the property. I bet it would almost be like a pillow when she beds down..!Don't know if I will eat her though....I will be taking her to the local conservation station and let them tell me what I should do!

Css is the last person to be giving an ethics sermon! It's not baited numbnuts, my grandparents have cattle and that is where the mineral lick sits for the cattle before deer season. My grandparents are old school and let the cattle roam the woods! We even take it a step farther and remove the block a month prior to the season. Mineral sites are illegal unless they are used for a livestock operation. If I wanted too I could leave that block out there all year long and it would be legal. Get all the facts before you jump to conclusions!

And just to add a little kicker, there have been 2 deer shot out there this year, both by my cousins, a button buck and a fawn.... If I wanted to bait deer and break the law I would do a damn better job of it!

It is legal to have a salt block out for cattle. You are correct. But it doesn't matter if you remove the block or not it still has melted salt in the ground which makes this site unhuntable by law. You do what you want I could give a crap and I am not preaching ethics here. But you come on here jumping people about shots they take which I should not have taken the shoots I did and stated such. And jump people about shooting little bucks which is fine if you are the one making the bank payment on the land the the animal was taken. If not shut the Hell up. It is up to the person hunting to make their own choices. I also do know the laws for the state of ILL. Because I went to school for Consevation Law Enforcement. I didn't get to finish my last 2 semesters due to having to start rasing my family Which was about the year you were born. But I keep up on the laws. Further more you stated in a earlier post on this thread that you were going to harvest the one Doe and ask Conservation about what to do with the meat. So your statement about what has been taken from this site who cares. My thing was you are posting pics of deer that are on illegall hunting ground and are saying you are going to harvest a deer from there well good luck. That is all I care to say about this. Other than have a Safe and Happy hunting Season. PS why are you getting so defensive about this. You are showing your age hot head.

Just caught this thread....since when is salt licks concidered baiting.There used by every farm big/small accross the u.s..here u can put them out in the national forests if you want....as far as that goes...any type of mineral block.

Illinois banned mineral licks back in 2002 I believe. It used to be legal as long as they were removed 30 days prior to the season. They aren't to be used unless its part of a livestock operation. I think it was done to combat the spread of CWD which is spred mostly through the bodily fluids like saliva. One infected deer hits the block it could spread to many other deer very quickly...... At least thats the way I understand it.

Thanks...just wondering....but to clear it up for me(nothing like schooling)...if you have a livestock farm in IL. you can't use salt licks...mineral blocks

We have the same law in Indiana and have had for as long as I remeber. To my knowledge in Indiana you can have them out you just can't hunt over them.

You can if you have livestock, and you can hunt over them if you want too.... We remove ours last week of August per the old statues of the law. In indy do you have to be a certain distance away, what is considered over them?

All this was copied and pasted out of our regulation from DNR. This is so you now the ILL laws. With the riase of CWD they have outlawed all feeding of Deer saying that the consentration of the animal droppings and urine is what they belive to be passing on the mutated protien. The area is a cattle opertaion and can have salt blocks legally but I don't see how all of the salt can be reomved before a hunt Like I said I don't care and I hope he gets one of those nice Bucks I was just saying what I have read in the Game Laws. It is unlawful to use a dog, horse, automobile,
aircraft, boat or other vehicle to take deer
with a firearm or bow and arrow. However,
dogs may be used to track wounded deer, so
long as the following conditions are met. Any
person using a dog for tracking wounded deer
must maintain physical control of the dog at all
times by means of a maximum 50 foot lead
attached to the dog’s collar or harness.
Tracking wounded deer is permissible at
night, but at no time outside of legal deer
hunting hours or seasons shall any person
handling or accompanying a dog being used
for tracking wounded deer be in possession of
any firearm or archery device. Persons tracking
wounded deer with a dog during the
firearm seasons shall wear blaze orange as
required. Dog handlers tracking wounded
deer with a dog are exempt from hunting
license and deer permit requirements so long
as they are accompanied by the licensed deer
hunter who wounded the deer. It is unlawful to
track deer with dogs on any Department
owned or managed site during hours when
deer hunting is open on the site. Other restrictions
apply.

All this could get confusing...where i hunt in MTNF alot of guys bait for wild pigs....you have to becareful when hanging your stand cause if you hang it near a baited area and don't know it's there and your not the one who put the bait out....your in trouble if you get caught by it...even though you had no idea it was there.

for ingestion by wild deer or other wildlife
in areas where wild deer are present.
Except:
• elevated bird/squirrel feeders providing
seed, grain, fruit, worms, or suet for
birds or squirrels located within 100 feet
of a dwelling devoted to human occupancy.

• incidental feeding of wildlife within
active livestock operations.

• feeding of wild animals, other than wild
deer, by hand as long as a reasonable
attempt is made to clean up unconsumed
food.
• feeders for wildlife other than deer so
long as deer are excluded from the feed
in and around the feeder by fencing or
other barriers.
• standing crops planted and left standing
as food plots for wildlife.
• grain or other feed scattered or distributed
solely as a result of normal agricultural,

• standing, flooded, or manipulated natural
vegetation or food/seed deposited by
