Who will be the first company to reach that mark?? I only picked the top 4 companies in my mind that will have that capability in next 3 years. Hoyt is kind of a stretch..........

PSE already did it with there 80# X-Force. Unless you mean 70# bows.

yeah #70 no #80 bows. 400 grains is an ideal hunting arrow for a 30" draw #70 bow! 350 fps at 400 grains = almost 109 ft. lbs. of KE - Nasty!

What would you hunt with that? I've seen arrows pass clean through deer, and also a bear @ 30" draw and 55lbs. I just don't see the need. but I guess thats what the traditionalists said when the first compound bow was made.

I would have to agree, I think Elite could be the first to do it, and make it something that you would want to shoot. I shot the Envy, and I must say, I am VERY impressed.

How fast do you think the bows will be shooting within the next 10 years? I bet they hit at least 475 fps.

If they ever make them that fast........a lot of shooters will have to Bulk up to draw them back...I can see it now...i just got my new Bow and it came with a one year free membership to Body Works.

the problem is. to get a 70# bow to shoot a 400 grn arrow they are going to have to make a harsher more aggressive cam. plus drop the brace under 6". and I'm not sure that it would sell at all. they would be so unshootable that only the speed freaks that want speed and no forgiveness would buy them. and shooting those Hca time bomb arrows dont count..

The problem isn't going to be one of getting the speed from the bows, but one of building targets to stop the arrow and one that will hold up for more than a few shots.
