I will be shooting my first 3D at Augusta. I will be Bow Novice and have a question. Are you given the yardage from the stake to the target or do you have to judge the yardage to each target?

SMOKES please read your rules before making false statements buddy.....

LAST YEAR the ASA went to half unmarked, half marked competitions.....

you have the OPTION of shooting half of the course, by lifting the cover on the stake, where you will find the distance marked....

go to the ASA website and read the rules......

Both days are marked yardage for Bow Novice in ASA...you would be suprised how hard it is for marked yardage! When you know how far that low 12 is exactly or that 14 ring, you just have to shoot at it :noidea:

All 30 yard max adult classes are all know yardage all 40 yard max adult classes are half and half and some 45 yard max are half and half. Open A mens unlimited and all semi pro or higher all all unknown. Knowing the distance you still have to mke the shot and you would be surprised by the amount of people that have a problem with that. You can look at the score form the limbsaver tourneys and tell that most people have that problem.

Did you read that the club hosting the event is INCOURAGED to have 2 seperate course's, 1 marked and 1 unmarked
Last year in VA they shot the Oualifier at Augesta Archers over 2 days on 20 unmarked:noidea:
This year its at Goochland Archery Club and they set up 2 ranges
And the speed rateing IS: 280 not 288:frusty:
Also at the ASA they make you shoot 1 arrow thru the crony, Thats it :biggrin1:
