We had a blast at a 3D event last night in Cheyenne. The first target I had to shoot was a bear @ 20 yards with a chunck of foam that would slide side to side. You had about 1.6 seconds for the shot. I was using a back tension type release...... I didn't hit the bear the first time, but my elavation was good. I punched the next two rounds pretty effectively. They had a deer with a fan w/ streamers blowing a couple other fun ones too...... great night. They decided not to score the 12 ring only 10, 8, 5....not that it would have helped me too much. 360 was the max (12 targets 10 points 3 rounds)... I shot 313. First time out with the Alpine in a while. I'm putting on my scope and long stab next time. I suck at distance judgement..... more practice needed.

    Arctic shoot...

There is an Arctic shoot today. I'm not going to go. I've got both boys today and it's supposed to warm up to 23*f. The youngest is 4 and I'd rather not bundle him up like the little brother on "A Christmas Story" There is another one next weekend, I'll try to make it if I'm home. Yep, 3D here is just gearing up even htough it's a bit cool outside.

The clubs around here are sissys.
Our first 3D is not until April.
I missed sign-up for the local indoor league so now I'm stuck until the end of February.

Have fun guys... I'll just keep shooting in my yard.

    Ronhop,

Sorry to hear about you missing the leagues. We have compound 3D 4 times a week, 2 on Tues and 2 on Weds. We have traditional 3D on Thursday followed by spots. It's pretty easy to get in... They'll have 2 lines if needed.
Our shop only has 12 lanes + a DART system. They do a really good job.
We are fortunate that we have an outdoor range run by the city parks. They allow a number of shoots through the year. The Arctic is billed as, no matter the weather.

The 3D's out this way are in parks that are closed in the Winter. The only indoor range we have is just down the road but it's not nearly big enough to have a 3D shoot.

I just plain blew it when signing up for league. I was out of town last week in Philly for work and just plain forgot about it because of that.

Oh well, what are ya going to do ?

    Have a beer !
