Jenni found these in the yard... Will they survive without thier mama???
I put a quarter in the second pic to show thier size...
Thanks Jacque Cousteau.
Feed those little suckers to your cat now before the multiply like rabbits.
I found a nest in my yard about 6 weeks ago and never did anything, now I got wabbits out the ying yang.
They are cute little guys....
My daughter is begging to keep one/all.:frusty:
One is a mean SOB... You get close and he snaps at me... My fingers must look like rabbit teets:noidea:
How do you know the momma isn't around :noidea:
Maybe she just needed to take a hop (walk):biggrin1:
I dont know if she will come back or not... Now that we disturbed the nest:noidea: We are oing to leave them over night to see if she comes and gets them... I may set up the traill camer to watch...
from what I seen, mommas are gone pretty much all day and come back right before dark
Leave them be, and dont touch them anymore......
the mother will be back, the reason the mothers dont hang around them, is because it draws attention to them (predetors)
Domestic rabbits will survive at 20days old......if there mother is killed....
they will die at 19 days.....
Wild rabbits are a tough bunch.....
LIKE I SAID, LEAVE THEM ALONE.....
you can look from a distance.....
Will the mama take them away? Cause right now my pit bull wants a new chew toy, so we cant let him run free in the yard till we get them taken care of.
NO, they will be there till they are ready to run around.....you have about a week, then you should be good to go......
if its questionable you could just do them in now, and save your kids the tears later.....:noidea:
Survival of the fitest........
your gonna kill them aint you......you big mean man, you.........
They are to small to make stew out of just yet...
but if my dog gets at them... he will think they are toys... Can I move em?
this is funny.... i just came in from cutting the grass and found the same thing. i didnt get any of them with the lawn mower. i had to put a little fenceing around it so that my dogs wont get them.
the mom only feeds then once a day, usually at night or just before.
wait a minute....how long have they been there and your dogs were not bothering them. Did you show your dogs where they are at :noidea:
DO NOT MOVE THEM!!!!!!
UNLESS YOU WANT TO SECURE THERE DEATH!!!!
We found them, and the dog couldnt resist seeing what the crowd was gathered around.
my dogs didnt find mine untill after i did....... good for nothing hunting dogs. i blame it on my wife!
better than having rabbits in the ying yang :noidea:
I recomend a light dusting of flour and some hot grease....
