to really tune a bow? I almost have mine tuned. Still waiting on the new cam. But, I was told, another guy, than the one helping me, is better at tuning. If my arrows are flying straight and consistant and it paper tunes bullet holes. Can it get better? I know there is No straight answer when it comes to this sport, so many people, so many opinions. So, what are your opinions?:noidea:

    tuning

If your shooting bullet holes through paper, well that's good enough.
Damn you came in first place what do you want?
Sometime's to much movement on your setup could get you in trouble.
If your not use to tearing a bow down, dont try it not on your #1 rig.
the only thing to make it any better are modifier's to make you feel more comfortable while your shooting,:scope/release/better,pins/arrows/even a nice wrist, strap will put you in a better frame of mind.:amen:

I saw a release that I want to try, don't remember what it is, but it is a thumb release. but it's like $100, ouch! I think that could help my punching the release. But my bow seems to be doing great. Just want to make it the best I can (best tuned possible)

    punching trigger

    :peace:
If your have problem's punching you might be getting a little target panic.
Try walking up to your target 10yds pull your bow back and count to 10
let your bow back down easy and slow, pull it back again hold on the target and slowly squeeze the trigger while watching the x or whatever your spot is
let the bow suprise you that's how you should shoot in practice.
if this dosnt work but i believe it will, you may need a clicker add to your bow
ive seen people use them also.::biggrin1:

Cascade Model #10 is a great thumb release, it costs like $90 $95 from Lancaster Archery. Very little travel in the thumb to fire, next to impossible to punch or flinch.

I have read that changing the style of release you use can help with punching the trigger but you must be careful not to start bad habits with the new release. I switched to a thumb style release (Carter) and saw my scores immediately jump. then I got too comfortable with the release and am currently trying to get rid of some target panic issues.

Wheels . get a true back tension and practice. W/ a thumb release its better than a trigger style. but still easy to punch. make a string bow at your draw length and practice. Its not as hard to use one as you might think. I'f you were in the area. I'd have you shooting one in a day.

I just ordered the Loesch True BT release. I talked at length with James to how it works. If you use a trigger one, which is what I'm using now that is where punching can happen. I tried a Carter Evolution last weekend but the regular one is kinda big so it wasnt that comfy. I'll let you know how this one is. I did find that using the back tension release wasn't hard at all actually so you might want to give one a try. I wish my first one cost me only $100, I had no idea that the thing was $189 (CHookkeeeeing) till I was ready to buy it. The people ripped me off just a tad to say the least. It works pretty well but I know that I can do better.

What release where you lookin at?

and btw - if you papertune with a wrist release you'll need to re-paper tune with the new release. Paper tuning is pretty worthless imho.
