I've got an older (1990) Bear Whitetail Hunter II bow that I would like to shoot some. It's been a long time since i've shot a bow. The bow does not have any type of rest and only has a smooth hole through the riser where the plunger would be. How do I attach a rest to this bow and what king do I need? I know this isn't a great bow and I don't want to spend a lot on one until I decide if I like it. Give me a little advice on what rest, and how to attach it so that I can do some shooting in the back yard.

as a beginner I think I would recommend a prong rest, you can find one here

    http://www.basspro.com/servlet/cata...%20keyword-_-arrow rest|-|5990535968135820527

then find on that page: Golden Key Futura Speed Set Hunter Rest

and if the website doesn't show up as a link an easier way to do it would be go to yahoo type in "arrow rest" and on the right hand side under sponser results the top one you will see is Bass pro shop go to that and find the arrow rest I mentioned. hope you find it and like it.

300 wish that was your score to!!!

The Star Hunter would be a good one for fingers or release, The are also a Golden Futura product. Just take a bolt that will go though the hole and attacth it with the head on the face of the riser, nearest arrow. You will need to tune the arrow for center shot and also for knock point. If you do not understand this procedure you might want solicate the help of a Pro shop or a friend who knows this. then you will be in the Bowshooting business. God Bless& Good shooting, Holy Smokes:wave:

I dont think that will work on that bow......the bow does not have a wide enough shelf.....ie center shot......

The hole in the riser isn't threaded?

My Black Mag came from Bear w/ one of those $3 plastic stick-on rests. It held up for YEARS!!:D

  7. go to your local pro shop and tell the bow tec that you need a threaded insert to put in the hole he'll know what your talking about and it wont cost you very much. it will look somthing like this.then you can put any arrow rest you want on your bow.that bow use to have a cast metal plate that slides in the whole there is a set skew on the inside of the riser what happend was the skew came loose and the insert came out. i hope i helped you:welcome: to archery
