    STARBUCKS DENIES COFFEE TO MARINES

Recently, Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks to let them know how much

They liked their coffees, and to request that some of it be sent to the troops there.

    Starbucks replied,

telling the Marines, "Thank you for your support of our products,

But Starbucks does not support the war,nor anyone in it, and we will not send our coffee."

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying

Any of their products! As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should

Get this out in the open.

I know this war is not popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we can't

Support the boys on the ground, fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for

What they and I believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it

And no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support.

I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

    Not much truth behind that...

The Marine who sent the email subsequently retracted his previous email.

    Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.

Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

I am not a coffee drinker. I like my Dr. Pepper in the morning. Coffee makes my gut grenade go off and that is not good for deer hunting.

I have a Starbucks and a Sheetz right next to me. 1 charges almost $5 for a cup of coffee and the other is $.87

Lets see which one do I pick:dizzy:

I can not speak for the Marines but I can tell you when I was in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 I got free bags of coffee from Starbucks once a month for the whole 12 month tours each time.

I am now on my 2nd month on a 15 month tour and have 50 pounds of assorted flavor beans sitting right in front of me, courtesy of Starbucks.
There is even handwritten messages on each bag written by employee's before they mailed the package to us over here......thought that was a cool touch :usa:

I am a big supporter of our troops. I have 2 sons in Marine Core JROTC. Both are looking at the Core when they graduate. I stand corrected on the post, I may have to start drinking Starbucks coffee.

When I was looking at new bows, I shot an XT and the Bowtech Tribute. Both felt good and shot good. Both were the same price. The Bowtech was a tribute to our troops and has the yellow support our troops ribbon on the bow. I supported our troops and went with the Tribute. My appologies to Starbucks.

Does Bowtech give any money to the troops?

According to their website and the tag on my bow, they give to the TAP's (tragedy assistance program) program to help families of fallen soldiers. I personally feel that Bowtech is doing what they say.

Call me crazy, but I try to be as American as possible. I don't buy Citgo fuel, they are owned by Chavez. I don't shop at Target where I live, the won't let the Marines collect toys for tots. Bowtechs support of our troops was a factor in my choice to buy a bow.

My last bow was a PSE Precision Edge 1000. Lets face it, any Mathews or Bowtech would have less hand shock, vibration, be faster, smoother, etc. Just my 2 cent. Hell, I don't drink coffee, but I may just have to go by Starbucks and get a cup.

I don't support the war 100%. I do support our men and women over there doing the dirty work. That is a war that we will never win. The religous fighting will go on forever and ever. Within a year after we leave some other nut case will be there and they will still be fighting. Don't get me wrong, I would rather us fight them over there, but politics is making it impossible to win. God help them if they ever want to come over come on our shores and do some fighting. I don't know of any Geneva convention, down south in Louisisana.

I'm glad MDewitt71 is getting it free. Guess it just hasn't found it's way to 1st Force Recon. They are at the end of a long "Logistics Train". Notice he didn't mention that they ever got any.
Don't want to spoil the those Marines with "Designer" Coffees.
I expect Starbucks takes a big writeoff. They are a Seattle company. Lots of "Support for our Troops" up there.

Besides, I heard Starbucks Coffee makes you "Gay", and "Liberal", in that order. Something about the chemicals that they use in the "Flavored" ones.

    Stay safe MD.
    Still praying for you.
