Anyone else problems with the In-velvet finish on their bowtech, or diamonds?

I bought a 101st early this year. After 1 day I noticed a small piece of the finish had wore off. I called Bowtech and they said sorry...we don't warranty the finish. :censored: I didn't get too up tight about it since it was so small. While shooting the R100 in Saginaw I noticed it was peeling big time! About 80% of the finish is wore off of the grip area. It looks like hell and the primer coat is pretty slick and I feel like the bow is slipping when I grip it. Just wondering if anyone else had a problem with it?

Ben, Ben, Ben, trade it in on an Elite. :peace:

Yes that was something I had never seen before. I would think a fine company like bowtech would take care of that for you. Good luck with it.

    Sorry, couldnt resist.......

Why is it that the ISSUES never seem to end with this company???

I mean come on, the NEVER ENDING limb problems, selling the company, loosing designers.......sueing people......now the finish up and falls off.....

HMMMMM MAYBE.......YUP I GOT IT....the hard part of the riser is finally done growing!!! and now its time for the velvet to fall off......it is getting close to hunting season, IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR.......

Maybe it falls off this time every year? :noidea:  I agree with the constant problems and BS. It may be time for a brand change. I can't even sell thing with it looking like it does.

Other than appearance that sounds like an asset. If it's slick you should be able to find that perfect zero torque hand placement with ease. I have no problem with my Invelvet but you've given me an idea.

Hey Ben, yeah I couldn't believe how much that thing was flaking when we were up in Saginaw.

I remember seeing something over on the dark side, ie AT :p , about them having problems with it early on. Maybe do a quick search, if you can get on :tape:

I can make you a deal on mine when I get it back :biggrin1: Then I can buy another Elite!!!

I wouldnt have accepted the warranty answer. the finish isnt covered due to general wear and tear, otherwise people would want to send their bows back every couple of years to have them re-dipped, just from normal nicks and scratches. what you have is a defective product. I would call back and if I got the same answer I would ask to speak to a supervisor, and keep asking until I got the answer I wanted.

true..maybe they should just make the same bow year after year after year with nothing new technology wise. That would cut down on problems :noidea: Not that any companies do that now :D

That's not exactly true.....they give 'em all redesigned names every year. :tape:

My General is about a year old and I haven't seen any problems yet. Hope I don't! I can't believe they wouldn't warranty the finish, that's crazy.

I may see what they can do for me tonight. Maybe the dealer can get me a new riser.

I have an 82nd and no problems but only about 250 arrows though it to date.

I'd nag Bowtech about it. If the in-velvet is BS then they need to fix it. All I do know is that the in-velvet attracts airborne stuff like cotton wood seeds and stuff like a magnet.

The in-velvet stuff is NOT impressive in my opinion. They should drop it and save us $50 at retail prices.

I'm not growing more impressed with Bowtech. In fact I'm heading in the other direction.

Good luck with that but I would hound their butts and get it fixed on their nickle.

MEANING how many threads or posts or stories from buddy's do you read that something needs to be addressed on a Mathews/PSE/HOYT/Pearson/ELITE/Darton/(or any other) that if not takin care of could potentially be life threatning.......

    NOT MANY..... IF ANY

and you say, "OH the broken limbs on BOWRECKS havent killed anyone...."

what happens when a guy is drawn on a deer in his stand and the thing lets go, and whacks him in the head, hard enough to make him somewhat dizzy, OR out cold and falls out of his stand, and is hanging from his safety harness??? and that time limit where you loose consiouness (cant remember what its called) passes.....and your hunting partner or family finds you swinging dead from you safety harness???

You know what........I dont think Bowtech will ever get it right, they have been in business for what 9 years.......and I doubt that 1 of those has passsed without issue......it has gotten so bad, that they finally issued a recall safety notice.......

Please, you Blowies/Blowers are a joke......and they say that Mathews guys drink Koolaid??? HAHAHAHAHAHA, your KOOLAID comes with blinders......:bored: :bored: :bored:

not the wrong side of the hutch, just sick of the constant nit picking......While I agree that maybe Mathews hasnt been on the forefront of technology in the last few years.....I do get sick of the constant KOOLAID comments.....

I didnt see Bowtech in the top 3 at the IBO worlds.....OH wait or the ASA shoot.......

come to think of it, I dont know when the last time a Bowtech even won a local shoot by me......

PEOPLE ASKED FOR A 36-38" version of the the Switchback/Drenalin.......

DLD 37"..........and they hit this one WAY OUT OF THE PARK.......
