I bought a Packer Buck Hunter as my first bow. I really like it, and was told I can adjust the sights myself. I bought a target block as well and was told if my arrow is up and to the left of what i was aiming at.. change the sight down and to the right...

Now, my question is this. When I change it down, do I bring the whole thing down, or just the one inside the sight? I noticed i can slide one of the 3 up or down.

I know they go from 10 yds. to 40 yds. If im not making any sense, can you try to redirect me to a site with some help? I tried to search for it on the internet with some search engines, but havent found what I'm looking for. Ill try to check back after I get home from work.

Hi . and welcome to the site.:welcome: I am assuming you have a a three pin sight. Yes if you are wanting to set your 10 yd pin ,stand at 10 yds from the target and shoot an arrow if it hits high and to the left then move the pin down and to the right. keep doning this untill you have it hitting th center of your spot. now move back to a distance of 20 yds, do it agian. and so forth untill you have all your pins set. I hope this is what you are looking for.

About the pins. When i try to adjust my sight's, to move it left and right, it has the bar with the numbers on it. I also have one for up and down to though. If i move my pins, when do I move the whole circular sight?

:noidea: I always thought you were suppose to chase the arrow  shooting high and right, move sight up and right. Hmmmmm maybe they do it differently down south.

If you hit High and left...move the sight up and left(follow the arrow)
as far as wether to move the pin or the sight housing...I would put your top pin about 1/2 way up and lock the pin, then move the housing to get that pin sighted in...after that you can adjust your 3 bottom pins for their respective yardages...
some times you will get the pin dead on at 20 yrds and be left/right at 40 yrds...set your windage at 40 and the rest should settle right in 40,30,20
Hope this helped or atleast made sense...

  9. Assuming the bow is tuned properly, Start at close range like 10 yards or so.. use your top sight and put that on the target and shoot...but first set your windage(left and right) adjustments... If you shoot to the left move your sights (dont move your pin alone, move the whole bar.only move the pin's if you have to.) to the left and if you shoot to the right move your sights to the right..Once you get the windage set you can adjust the rest of the sights to that first sight/pin, the same with your arrow height(up and down) If you shoot high move your sights up and if you shoot low, lower your sights down.. The rule of thumb when you are trying to set archery sights "chase the arrow"
    good luck.

yup their right, chase the arrow.... I dont know if id bother with a 10 yard pin or not though, 10 and 20 yards will be pretty close. But shoot a few at 10 so your close enough to not miss the target at 20.......

Ok, im sorry but I still dont understand. Drop the names on me if you wish, but some of the things i read, i get confused as what certain parts are called. The Shop doesnt really help me and I dont have 1 - 1 1/2 hours to wait just ot ask a question.

Im guessin the pin(s) are the orange limbs x 3(if i can call them that) in the center of the round part of the sight. The housing, im not to sure on.

I really dont want to irritate people by my questions, but there is a Archery class that is taught near the community college, but the registeration has already past. As i mentioned earlier, I tried lookin online about things like this, but I didnt find anything i liked.

Gaah im so confused, but im still excited about my bow. Even though im not hittin my target where I want, im not just gonna go turn it back in:peace: .

No problem...It can get confusing, I know...When I say pin it is the little sight pin inside the ring(I called the round ring part the housing...)
It was a 4 pin sight (1 on top and 3 on bottom) correct?
Your top pin is your closest yardage(10, 20 whatever you set as your lowest yrd.)
    The sight housing should have a left/right adjustment(windage) and an up/down adjustment(elevation)

    Okay...that being said
-I would set the top pin almost all the way up in the ring( leave alittle adjustment dont put it all the way up)
-Now standing at 10 yrds from the target...Adjust the whole housing L/R and U/D until you are zeroed in on that top pin (don't move the pin move the whole sight housing)
    Remember: Follow the arrow
-That gives you a base setting for the rest of the pins...
-Now if you want to leave that pin at 10 yrds that's fine(mine is set at 20)
-Move out to your next yardage (20, 25 ?)
-Using the second pin down( it shold be close to the top pin, maybe 1/4" below it
-Now you can move that second PIN U/D until it is in...
-Repeat this for the rest of the pins...
Now sometimes you will notice you have to adj the sight L/R out past 30 yrds this is normal...
Usually when you get the U/D on the pins set all the way out you just set the L/R of the sight housing at your farthest yardage and the closer ones will settle in
Hope this helped and was more understandable...:biggrin1:

Hey could you send a pic of the sight. That would help a whole lot. We will do the best we can and the pic would let us see what we are dealing with. If notr how do the limbs come lose to adjust, also how does the round thing come loose so you can move that? HS
