about a year ago they moved to Mexico and were producing good shafts and then their quality control went to hell and they stopped all production till they got it straightened out. I think they are now back to their previous level but a lot of dealers dropped them in favor of CX due to the delivery times.

  3. so they are made in mexico ?:noidea:

Unless something changed they are manufactured in Mexico and then the raw shafts are shipped to Utah to be put together and bundled.

The issues (As far as I know) were primarily caused by the mexico plant not performing correctly. people were getting mixed dozens of arrows (ie: there would be hunter arrows in with their Pro's) I also heard lots of reports of arrows mismarked, 5575's would actually be 7595's and vice versa. weights were all over the place (+- 5 gr / arrow) and just general horrible quality. Supposedly they have it fixed but I'm still very disappointed that they shipped it to Mexico. I won't be buying any more Gold Tips.

Just after I bought my Trykon, the dealer recommended some 22 series ultralights. I love em. for an ultralight shaft they are as durable as they come. When I heard they had moved to Mexico I was bummed. Heard they were going to discontinue the 22 series. Found and bought all the 22's I could on Ebay. I recently was told they are back in production and going strong. I've got enough to last a while so I'll get a chance to watch their progress. If the new stuff is as good as the original, I'll stick withem.

Come on down, I'll be lookin for ya. Guess I'll be going to the State indoor for the first time next month. Finished 3rd in a qualifer shoot in December. I'm really lookin forward to it. Competed in a lot of big shoots when I shot trap, and in the early days of 3D, but never anything like this indoors. Hope I don't embarrass myself too bad. Just starting to shoot again after sinus surgery so I'm pretty rusty. Got 3 weeks to bring my game back up. I'll let ya know how bad I do ha ha. Later

I hate to break the bad news to some of you but most archery equipment is made outside the US. I know the buyer for a VERY large archery distributor. He said at least 85% of all archery equipment is made outside the US. It stinks but it's a fact.

What I really don't like about Goldtip isn't that they went down south, its that they decided to still put the arrows together in the US so that they can claim that the arrows are made in the USA.

its shady dealings like this that I can't stand.

I feel the same way, if you go to Mexico to make your arrows then just say it.

With the cheap labor outside the U.S. there is alot of this happening in everything. Sony now has a factory in Canada and in Mexico.
