How many of you people in 3D land lease hunting land?

What is the cost per acher?

Do you have a contract for so many years or is it year to year?

Do you have just deer hunting rights or all hunting rights?

One of the small pieces I was thinking on leasing the land owner wants me to allow his brother on there. He claims he only hunts one or two times a year.
So, Do you allow other people on the land besides yourself?

Any other loop holes I should watch?

Just make sure to spell everything out up front. That way there are no surprises, and no hard feelings.

Personally our lease doesn't allow anybody to hunt there except the lease holders and their families. It is for all year round to use the place and hunt whatever is legal. Now there is a couple weeks a year that the land owner set aside for him and his family to go up there for a reunion type deal but they don't hunt. If the land owner ever asked, he could have certain times for his family to take does if he likes. I wouldn't be cool with his brother coming up there and shooting a buck that you have let grow for a couple years....but that is just me. Hopefully the brother is just a meat hunter and would be happy with a couple does.

But like Big Country said...just get it all up front so there are no suprises!

Me and two other guys lease about 100 acres for $300 each.
I bowhunt, they only shotgun. They say they bowhunt but never end up going so it's a good deal for me.

I have another spot, about 115 acres that a friend owns that is free to hunt.
I hunt it with one other person not counting any trespassers.

I added up the cost of your lease and it scared me ! How many guys you got in your lease?

Years ago I lease 250 acre farm with two other bow hunters. We were fussy on what we shot and had some really nice deer in the lease. We had the lease for four years and never worried about a written contract.
Next year a bigger group of guys came along and almost double what we were paying on the lease. The farmer didn't even give us a chance to match the price. I hope they enjoyed the good hunting we built for them.

For $48 you can get a public land permit. You can go to military bases and even get licenses there as well.
